GGuest UserThe room was very spacious with beautiful views and great privacy. The pool was also fantastic! A special shout-out to the excellent service and butler service – they were always responsive, attentive, and polite! The happy hour dinner was also amazing! The nearby park is perfect for seniors and kids, and there's a cycling path too.

GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.everyone went out of their way to assist us, always with a warm smile. Their genuine hospitality really made a difference. The location is excellent, especially for visiting Mutianyu. It’s very convenient and allows you to explore the area without the rush of traveling from Beijing city. We also had lunch at both their Western and Vietnamese restaurants, and the food at both was excellent—definitely a highlight of our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Mutianyu, particularly if you prefer a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.

ZZiyouqijuenianguyuanEven though it's no longer affiliated with a top-tier luxury brand, it's still worth a stay. The hotel itself is part of the Summer Palace's imperial gardens, which we specifically explored at night. The gardens are an intricate maze of carved balustrades, jade-like structures, and winding corridors, where time itself seems to shape the space. While the bustling crowds are just outside the walls, hotel guests have private, unlimited access to the Summer Palace through a special entrance, though a staff member needs to open the gate each time. Afternoon tea is served by a small pond, shaded by weeping willows and surrounded by blooming flowers – perfect for a lingering late spring afternoon. While the setting is dreamy, the pastries were generally a bit too sweet for my liking. The breakfast restaurant, adorned with a 'Royal Cuisine' plaque, offers a semi-buffet. Emperors of old might not have enjoyed the variety and quality available today! The hot food selection includes both Chinese and Western options; while it might not be as bustling as other hotel breakfasts, the quality is excellent and the service impeccable. Our room was upgraded to a suite with a thoughtfully designed layout. The bedding was luxurious and the pillows incredibly comfortable. The nine-compartment box filled with snacks was a delightful touch. Toiletries are presented in ceramic gourds, giving them the appearance of ancient elixirs. However, these ceramic bottles for shampoo and shower gel are a bit impractical; they're slippery and made me nervous about dropping and breaking them, and the conditioner was difficult to squeeze out. This could definitely be improved. We had to rush off, so we didn't get to experience many of the amenities, leaving us a good reason to return.

RroseisrosetravelAfter staying here, it's clear why it's considered ultra-luxury; there's a definite gap in quality compared to others. 1. The room decor is excellent. After a full renovation, the rooms feature entirely smart controls (though no voice control). All switches (including curtains) are touch-sensitive, and there's also a tablet for tapping away. It's slightly less responsive than ideal but still acceptable. There's even a printer under the desk and two TVs, so you can watch simultaneously in the living room and bedroom. 2. The hotel facilities are also impressive. The thermal facilities and lounge at the spa on the third floor are absolutely amazing, no need to elaborate! The gym offers free yoga instruction videos. 3. The bed in the room is incredibly comfortable! So comfortable, in fact, that I could almost overlook the rather casual service. 4. The cleaning staff were excellent, very polite and efficient, and worked quietly. 5. The hotel offers many recreational activities, such as Hutong tours, children's experience courses, and yoga classes. Although most require payment, I feel they are well-designed to leverage existing resources and create a great guest experience. Cons: 1. The service truly lags. I felt the front desk staff seemed keen on projecting an 'aloof but firm' persona, but in reality, they were unprofessional and impolite. During check-in, when confirming order details and assigning rooms, they remained completely focused on their computer screens, never looking up at the guests when asked questions – I've never encountered this before. The room tour only covered hotel facilities like the restaurant and gym; once we got to the room, not a single thing about it was explained. Also, don't expect any special treatment just because you booked through Trip.com; there was absolutely none (I didn't even receive the spa voucher that was supposed to come with the booking). 2. The concierge department seems to lack experience. Guests would walk out, and they wouldn't even ask if a taxi was needed; they just stood there. 3. The hotel's call center was unanswered in the middle of the night! When I reported the issue the next day, the manager was very apologetic and said they would investigate thoroughly, but no compensation or appeasement followed. Sigh, everyone just seemed a bit haphazard. Cheerful but cold. 4. The turndown service left a thin mat by the bed, which I didn't like. I prefer the soft, plush mats like those at the Mandarin Oriental Macau; they're incredibly comfortable to step on barefoot when getting out of bed. Notes: 1. Deliveries are not allowed upstairs. The delivery person will leave your order on the concierge's luggage cart at the entrance. If you go to pick it up, the concierge will warmly greet you, ask for your room number, and help you find it. 2. Trip.com bookings are not eligible for the 'Peninsula Time' benefit.

GGuest UserThis hotel is nestled in the quiet and immaculate Beigou Village, offering a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern style. Since it was off-season, there was a wonderful sense of tranquility, truly a retreat from the hustle and bustle. Every staff member was incredibly warm and friendly, especially the front desk lady. She gave us detailed directions for the hike up the mountain and even cautioned us about two particularly sharp turns. In the past, whenever I visited Mutianyu for the Great Wall, it was always a day trip. This time, choosing to stay at The Brickyard was an unexpected and delightful surprise!

LLeaHH.My partner and I spontaneously decided to have a staycation in Huairou, and we had an incredibly rejuvenating three-day trip on Yanqi Island! The hotel upgraded our room, which was over 60 square meters and elegantly designed. The TV screen was a bit small, but luckily, there was a great selection of movies. Since we stayed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, there were very few people around. We often had the pool, gym, and sauna all to ourselves. The 25-meter long, 1.2-1.5-meter deep pool was kept at a comfortable 27 degrees Celsius, and there was also a hot tub. The showers had multiple jets spraying at once, which was a nice touch. The gym equipment was comprehensive. The environment is truly beautiful. We saw flocks of wild ducks, enjoyed leisurely walks among the flowers, and had picnics (as shown in the pictures). Bicycles and electric scooters were also available for rent by scanning a QR code. The breakfast buffet was good; the only minor disappointment was the lack of fresh juices, but otherwise, the variety of Chinese and Western options was excellent. They had made-to-order eggs and noodles. The food tasted great, and we could easily eat our fill. The lunch buffet, priced at 258 RMB, featured local Huairou specialties like iron pot fish stew, as well as a wide range of desserts and ice cream. The hotel pretty much met all our requests during our stay, and when a minor issue arose with the room facilities, a staff member quickly came to fix it. We also visited the nearby Hongluo Temple and Qinglong Gorge – highly recommended!

EEvesanyeAbsolutely loved it here!!! Since it's certified to host international guests, I noticed during check-in that besides my family, everyone else was a foreigner 🤭. After seeing the whole courtyard and our room, I felt like sleeping here at night would make my dreams transcend time. Waking up in the morning brought a completely different scene! The moment I opened my eyes, I fell even more in love... It's a tranquil oasis hidden away in the bustling city. Everything here makes you feel at ease and joyful. The breakfast was amazing, poetically romantic. They offer handmade mini wontons and drinks all day long, so if the kids get hungry, they can always have a late-night snack. The staff were also incredibly nice. It's super convenient and close to Wangfujing and Tiananmen Square. All in all, I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Beijing!

DDadadelvxingmengxiangThis is our second time staying at the Commune by the Great Wall, and the experience was once again superb – we felt incredibly comfortable and relaxed throughout our stay! This time, we chose the Red House, and its orientation was perfect. Being east-west facing, it received warm sunshine all day long, making it so cozy and peaceful. The Red House No. 3 has a unique and artistic architectural design. Especially at sunset, the light and shadows stream into the room, creating a beautiful and healing atmosphere – every photo we took looked like it belonged in a magazine. It's pet-friendly, and our little dog absolutely loved the environment here. The only minor inconvenience is that pets aren't allowed in the hotel restaurant. I hope they could set up a pet-sitting area near the restaurant entrance, so pets could roam around while their owners dine. Moreover, the butler service was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive. They proactively recommended places suitable for children to play and local specialty dishes, which was very detailed and heartwarming. Overall, the stay was a perfect 10, definitely worth coming back to again and again!

BBulangxiongbuzaijiaAfter a wonderful stay at Rosewood Guangzhou, my experience at Rosewood Beijing was quite disappointing. First, let's talk about the positives: the design of the public areas and rooms is stunning, and the club lounge, gym, and pool facilities are excellent, meeting the standards of a luxury five-star hotel. The maintenance of these facilities is also quite good. Now for the areas that need improvement, primarily the service. It's the worst service I've ever encountered in a hotel costing over 1500+ RMB per night. The overall impression is one of aloofness and bureaucracy. The butler's pre-arrival communication was unhelpful, and it seemed like different departments within the hotel didn't communicate with each other. There was incorrect information regarding club lounge benefits. The butler claimed the room type I wanted to upgrade to was fully booked, but the front desk said there was one available for a paid upgrade. Despite informing them beforehand that I was traveling with a child, extra slippers and toothbrushes weren't provided promptly. This experience falls far short of what I've had at some Marriott and Crowne Plaza hotels costing 500+ RMB per night. Considering Rosewood's 5000+ RMB room rate, this aspect is truly subpar. The executive lounge's service and food were also very disappointing. It was the first time in my life I was asked for my room number three times in the lounge. During happy hour, it was often difficult to find the bartender and noodle chef. The slightly pale, somewhat red-faced male bartender provided poor service; he seemed unwilling to speak much and would simply walk away even when guests were right in front of him. While the afternoon tea in the lounge was decent quality, the variety was too limited. The happy hour food was also overly Westernized, consisting mostly of cold dishes. This is China, after all. There was only one hot dish, beef cheek, and a bowl of Chaoshan beef kway teow, which was too cold and not very suitable for families with children. For drinks, there were three white wines, two red wines, and one sparkling wine, all of average taste. For spirits, only two types of whiskey used for cocktails were complimentary; others required an additional charge. Overall, the lounge food felt like a higher-end Andaz, but Andaz is free, while Rosewood's lounge prices are even more expensive than the Ritz, yet the food is nowhere near as good as the Ritz. Perhaps every hotel defines its lounge differently, but they should still strive to satisfy a wider range of guests. The front desk staff also lacked smiles, and the concierge wouldn't even look at you when speaking. The elevator attendant, however, was quite good. The breakfast on the first floor was also overly specialized and disappointing. The variety was the worst I've encountered in a hotel costing over 1500+ RMB per night. It was quite Western-biased; the bread was excellent, just like at Rosewood Guangzhou, but the Chinese options were far inferior to Rosewood Guangzhou, with too little variety – only the congee was decent. Furthermore, I forgot my child's swimming goggles and cap in the bathrobe pocket. After checking out, I contacted the hotel to help locate them. I was told they were in the bathrobe in the room, but then they replied that the pool staff couldn't find them. I reiterated my request, and they said the laundry also couldn't find them. This could have been a chance for them to earn some brownie points, but it further highlighted Rosewood Beijing's shortcomings in service.

DDoudoufiona1. The female staff member at the front desk was so cold during check-in; she didn't even greet me, kept her head down, and barely spoke a word. I won't mention her name tag, but I hope this improves. 2. The restaurant staff were very nice, but the breakfast was truly terrible. The selection didn't change at all over my three-day stay, and there was hardly anything to eat. 3. The room was spacious and comfortable, but there were stains on the wallpaper in some areas. 4. It's been a long time since I've seen a five-star hotel that still puts plastic bags in its trash cans...
