Hotel Palazzo del Mare - Essenza

Stunning hotel, location is out of this world with views right across the bay and so peaceful. Would recommend staying here than the old town if you want to truly enjoy what Kotor Bay had to offer. The walk into town (around 1 hour ish?) is so enjoyable too as you get to see the bay, bars, restaurants, hotels, villas etc along the way. It’s less touristy too which we liked! Our room was beautiful - felt like a suite as was so big and had sofa area, large bathroom etc and our own space in a courtyard. Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do more to help you, they spoke brilliant English too. Kotor is just gorgeous and worth visiting - the boat trip to our lady of the rocks and blue caves etc was arranged by the hotel too and was such a perfect day out to see what Kotor is all about. Great restaurants nearby - we tried Mudra Art cuisine (just along the bay en route into town) and also Stari Mlini (5min taxi from hotel) and they were divine experiences! We are sad to leave! Defo will be back, can’t wait x

Stayed here for 4 nights. View from Hotel is like a postcard and is the perfect setting. Breakfast on the terrace and lying on the deck looking at the bay was very peaceful. We were given a room in the basement. Decorated nicely however there is a problem with damp! We informed the staff and manager said the smell will disappear tomorrow, it didn’t. He then told me that it was because of the wind. 🤣🤣🤣 Also the hotel are building a beach bar and everyday lying at beach was disrupted due drilling and building noises. The bed in our room wasn’t great either which was surprising as this hotel was the most expensive yet we had some really comfy beds in other hotels. Breakfast was Plentiful and tasty and the girls (Andgela, Branca and Tjana)were all very sweet and an asset to the hotel. Location is good if you have a car but next time I’d stay a bit closer to Kotor or I’d stay in Perast and would definitely not book a basement room.

I'll never forget this amazing time we had at this cutest hotel with possibly the friendliest personal in Monte***** and I'm not even exaggerating. We stayed for 2 weeks everything was so welcoming we felt at home without a doubt. Everyone was so genuinely helpful with big smiling faces we felt so happy. They even remembered my boyfriend's birthday and made us the cutest surprise. We took the deluxe king room, the view is like a postcard I kept taking photos of it almost every day, and the room itself was so satisfyingly designed and our needs were met. Overall we had an unforgettable experience you would get once in a lifetime, I will always remember this great time with a smiling face, thanks to the people who love their jobs. I hope to visit there one day again.

Arriving late on a Sunday we were greeted warmly with effortless check-in and our bags whisked away to our chic, modern, air-conditioned room; perfect after a day of travelling and being hit by the hot and humid climate as we stepped off the plane. Waking in the morning we looked out over one of the most beautiful views in the Adriatic, straight across the bay toward Perast with a gentle breeze, blazing sunshine and the lapping of waves just feet away from the hotel. Breakfast here is truly splendid with continental offerings of local prosciutto and cheeses, pastries and savouries, as well as cereals and fresh juice. There is also a range of teas and as much coffee as one requires before a day out exploring Kotor, just a walk along the bay from Dobrota. Locals are quiet and friendly, only too happy to help, confirming that Monte*****, particularly Kotor, is amongst the friendliest of places to visit for sun worshippers, history buffs and foodies! When returning to the hotel you can cool off by the pool or take a dip in the temperate bay from Palazzo Del Mare Essenza’s private jetty and sun-spot. Even in a storm, the views make this place ideal for kicking back and watching the weather with wine or coffee. Whilst not the biggest of hotels, Palazzo Del Mare Essenza delivers boutique stays with 24/7 concierge and plenty of friendly staff to help, advise and make the most of your stay. Nothing is too much trouble. As dining at the hotel is not possible there are a number of superb eateries and bars for some evening (or afternoon) drinks just a few minutes walk away toward Kotor, and even a stunning fine dining restaurant (Stari Mlini) just a few minutes taxi-ride north. This a perfect couple’s spot, ideal for those looking for a little bit of luxury with calm comfort away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

That was a fantastic stay in Kotor. Charming , smiley stuff, very helpful. Make teh stay so nice. The breakfast is very good. Room was superb. They have own beach. Quiet place, down the road few restaurants and bars. I really enjoy my stay and strongly recommend the place.

Beautiful hotel! Best beach club right across the street! Great price for the 5 star hotel… Ni only opinion is the kitchen is right across one of the suites and it wakes you up in the morning . Make sure you get a suite on a higher floor

Really helpful friendly staff. Hotel has a great location near the lake. Lovely small pool area, with free sunbeds and towels, also sunbeds and brollies around the lake. Lovely spacious room, most with lake views. Good choice for continental breakfast including hot and cold selections.
