Hotel Krone

I was very disappointed with the restaurant at Hotel Krone (business dinner 8/5/2021). The waiter was great, but the management (hotel owner) lacked professional skills. The main course, a vegan risotto (described on the menu as "Creamy rosemary risotto with roasted vegetables"), was topped with non-vegan cheese. I pointed this out, and the manager took it back to the kitchen. On a second try, I was served cooked rice with a few vegetables (14.00 euros after a small bowl of salad leaves for 5.90 euros - very overpriced). The food was bland and completely overpriced. The rice was mushy and tasteless. When I approached the restaurant manager about this, her response was very unprofessional. She asked me what I expected from her now! If she took the food back, it would be thrown away (again!). I then suggested that they could make me a nice vegan dessert. Thirty minutes after I finished the main course (bland rice and a smattering of veggies) and after asking three times if dessert was ready, I was presented with two blobs of sorbet and a few berries with a blob of sauce. It was very poor! The waiter apologized and the manager seemed to avoid us. All in all: the food at this restaurant was overpriced, bland and did not correspond with the menu.

It was only a flying visit and a one night stay, but what struck us was how helpful and welcoming the staff were. The hotel was packed with loads of people arriving but they seemed to have it all planned and worked out. Our rooms were jolly big e.g. included a separate toilet from the bathroom. Maybe a bit sp**** (for example in hotels of this standard and price you might expect to find tea and coffee making facilities). But all in all did the job nicely. Free parking is also real bonus at the hotel as well.
