The Chesterhouse

When we stayed there the room was not cleaned at all. When we asked the manager she said I could not be done anymore for whatever reason, so we asked for some discount, she said we should talk to the website and that she could not to anything. Do not recommend this place at all.

At first we were in a room at the back of the hotel. We had to open the window as it was hot, the noise from seagulls and extractor fan was very loud. We asked if we could be moved and the staff were brilliant, moving us to a sea view large room which was lovely. The manager and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was lovely and the evening meals were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

Firstly don’t ever believe the photos you see on the web. This hotel looked ok in the photos with big spacious room and bay window. What we got was a run down box room with animal hair on the carpet located at the rear of the hotel. The bed was tiny the walls dirty and the bathroom was awful. The noise of drunken people all night in the alley behind us never allowed us a good sleep. No air conditioning or even a fridge. Getting to your room via a tiny lift, narrow corridors and a maze of stairs up and down via prison like doors makes for a unhappy stay. Like I say, don’t believe the web photos!!! For a short birthday break we booked this hotel last minute and were delighted with our modern updated room overlooking the seafront. Contemporary greys with very comfortable bed and walk in shower. Sofa by the window and plenty of room. Tea making and excellent wifi Fresh smelling and spotless with a decent breakfast The staff are all gorgeous creating a very happy and efficient atmosphere Highly recommended and excellent value for money Many thanks for proper old fashioned hospitality and friendliness!

We stayed here in May 2024 as part of a coach trip. Room was spacious, clean, and modern. There are some parts of the hotel that are run down, but they are currently renovating so it can only improve! The food was good with multiple options, including veg/vegan. The staff are absolutely wonderful, couldn't do enough for us! The location is great, overlooking the tower of refuge in the bay. You can get around easily from here, there's a bus stop immediately outside.

Myself & a friend, had the best experience at the Chesterhouse. We were in room 220. The room are very modern, clean , warm & with comfortable beds, modern bathroom with shower & we had a lovely sea view The hotel Staff were extremely helpful & nothing was too much bother. The young lady ( long black hair) on reception went above & beyond… she deserves a pay rise or promotion. I would highly recommend this hotel .

We visited with Dodds of Troon coach tours, this Hotel prides itself in old fashion customer experience & it exceeded all expectations from the warm welcome on arrival from all the team, it was superb, and made our visit to Isle of Man for the 1st time extra special. The food was amazing all freshly made, superb choices at breakfast & dinner all credit to the chefs. The rooms are basic spotless clean, and made up daily with fresh products. The ambiance in this Hotel is magic great evening entertainment & a relaxing bar area to sit & enjoy the stunning views with drinks reasonably priced. All of the staff are a credit to this Hotel, the service is amazing they go the extra mile and provide a WOW customer experience always delivered with a smile - thank you 🙏

Large hotel on the sea front, 1 road back and you have the main high street. Room was ok, no view (shame) but the windows were covered in bird poo. Occupants were from organized groups and each group had set times for meals,, it worked. Good choices at breakfast and dinner and the meals were excellent.

Not a bad hotel but a few problems. There is a lift that only fits three people. Out of the lift there were eight steps down to my room! There are steps also from the hotel to the roadway. My single room was basic but adequate. Behind the window was just a wall. No view and I was paying a single-room supplement. It was a squeeze to get into the toilet. I did get a bath mat in order to use the shower which was adequate. There was excellent wifi reception in the room. Breakfast and evening meals were at set times and all self services. The food, on the whole, was excellent. I liked the fishcakes especially. I was disappointed that ice-cream wasn't an option for dessert although the lemon-drizzle cake was very nice. The staff were all very friendly. The location along the promenade is excellent.
