Absolutely loved our stay at the Gateway - fantastic value in our really large family room. So big and also really clean with everything we needed, plus the free water every day was a nice touch. Staff were brilliant - very friendly and helpful with advice and arranging taxis for us - and checking everything was OK The hotel is really close to the creek and also the souks. As taxis are so cheap we used them to get around (roughly 35 Dirhams to Burj/Mall) The breakfast was great - good variety of omelete/sausage/breads/fruits/pancakes and delicious fresh orange juice The rooftop pool was really refreshing, plenty of room with beds and towels

Gateway review March 2-12 We now consider ourselves to be regulars at this hotel. Having stayed in many of the high end hotels like Versace, Atlantis the Palm, Waldorf and Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, this is our favourite for many reasons. Friendly staff, ultra clean, good food, central area for transport and shopping. Great rooftop pool. Abu from Delhi on Security, Umam from Peshawar and John from Kenya and the others at the front entrance are all so helpful and friendly. Great for a chat and so kind. Reception staff are amazing and so helpful , Prakash orders our take away food orders 👍🏽. Dippin the manager is such a kind professional guy from Kerala who runs a great team, he kindly ensures I get a fabulous room to accommodate my mobility issue, many many thanks kind sir. In the pool it is Rishi who takes great care of us, a lovely young guy from Sri Lanka. The restaurant staff are exemplary and genuine. Jyoti is so sweet and very knowledgeable for one so young, she gave me Jain food one morning at my request as I was curious. Ahmed and Khalid from Egypt are so kind and good mannered. They all make breakfast a delight. Minuka is a little treasure and all the staff are but I don’t know all the names yet. As I’ve previously said don’t be looking for balconies or views as there are none. It ticks all the boxes and makes a very pleasant stay. See you all next month Inshallah.

From check in to breakfast to room Everything is pathetic Check in the receptionist don't even talk or response in a goood way as if we came for free stay Rooms are like Dharamshala there are cockroaches and insects in rooms Bad smell and even after o much request they were not ready to change the rooms And finally the breakfast has no spread and everything served cold and no one there to even look after .. Jain food is not available. I will not at all recommend anyone

It’s typical Indian hotel, area around the hotel too busy, too many people , small shops around , this part of Bur Dubai is not good! The hotel provide free parking in basement. Rooms was very clean and good and big, they gave us free update of room ! Thanks 🙏

Unmasking a hidden gem: Don't let the charmingly chaotic streets of the old city fool you. Tucked away amidst the souks and shops lies a budget-friendly oasis: this modern hotel! While our 6 AM arrival might've sparked initial confusion, any doubts quickly vanished. Hospitality with a smile: Forget generic concierges, you've got Frank and Mohammaed Sultan! These friendly faces, Frank (the Kenyan gentleman - forgive me if I'm misremembering his name!), are walking local guides. Need an ATM? Lost in the souks? Just ask! Their proactive help, always delivered with a smile. Kudos to managements staff training I must say. Embrace the authentic charm: This isn't a glitzy skyscraper affair, but the old city's charm is undeniable. Sure, traffic might be bustling, but you'll find a feast for the senses: vibrant restaurants, intriguing shops, and a glimpse into local life. It's safe, friendly, and an experience in itself. The perfect pick for value-seeking families: Seeking a taste of real Dubai without breaking the bank? This hotel delivers. Reasonably sized rooms, fantastic staff, and a central location make it a hidden gem for families. Just remember, you're trading five-star luxury for an authentic experience but it's worth it!

The welcome and assistance from doormen John and Umar was so friendly on leaving and arriving. John claims to be 49? Really?? Lol Reception staff are so helpful and friendly, Khartika and Prakash and the others I don’t know their names. Dipin the manager was approachable when I requested a move as the awful damp stench in my room 204 was made worse that it had a balcony that was locked? 2 days later I got a better room with a window. Good size, clean and great air con. Breakfast was really good with a different choice of Indian food daily along with a good selection of fruits, salads, various eggs to order and bakery items. This was all made even more delightful from the support from the Manager of dining, Manjeet. He was most helpful and so organised, he will do well in his life. My room was attended to by Suman, very polite young man from Nepal. Good worker and good manners. We had the pool to ourselves most days and this was a bonus in the 40 plus degree heat, it was fabulous. The attention came from Rishi (Not UK Prime minister but better) He cleaned the pool daily and supplied us with information , towels and ice buckets to keep our water cold. I would like to point out that the above staff did NOT request I done a good review for them. Its so easy to spot fake reviews so this is genuinely earned. I have booked here for my next trip too.
