Husband booked room for me during home renovations. I arrived and was offered a free breakfast due my husband’s loyalty status. I, too, have loyalty status. I confirmed when I picked up my breakfast it would be free and was told it would be charged and then removed. I ate breakfast two days of the three I was there. When checking out the breakfast was still on the invoice. After much dickering I did get a credit of 10 per day. I was told I should know it’s not free. I never asked for breakfast, it was offered. I would never pay 16 for breakfast with less options than a Hampton Inn. I hate being told I should know when clearly I didn’t nor should this be in my list of things I should know. I only took what was offered. Additionally, restaurants not open for lunch or dinner as promised on web site. The parking charge is kind of silly. It’s a large suburban lot with the “not responsible” signs everywhere. You could literally park in nearby parking lots for free or on street. When I traveled HGI was usually my hotel of choice due to amenities and safety for single women traveling. This has come down a few on my list. Room was fine. I didn’t need housekeeping as I was working during the day. Location was as expected. You will need a car.
