Very cute hotel with historical character - as well as modern updates to the room (newer bathroom fixtures, USB chargers for room etc). Had a room with two twin beds for a friends trip and there was space for both our suitcases etc. location was great - a quiet part of town and a nice 15 min walk to City Center / Trinity College. The continental breakfast was great and the attached Gastropub was also great (brunch right after arrival and dinner one night )

The Schoolhouse hosted our wedding reception dinner last week and it really was the most incredible experience. We honestly could not have received better service. The staff were incredibly accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious. The building is so beautiful and the blue room really is a perfect size for an intimate wedding. Every single one of our guests expressed how much they loved it. We are beyond thrilled to have chosen the Schoolhouse. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making our wedding so memorable. Beautiful old building turned into a lovely inn. Very clean and well maintained. Outstanding friendly service and a fantastic breakfast. Great location, too, as it's close enough to walk to the interesting spots but far enough for a peaceful stay.

Excellent hotel - friendly, helpful staff; comfortable rooms and beds; welcoming common spaces, including breakfast room and bar. Quiet part of town, next to walking path along canal, but easy walk to center and sights - and the hotel itself has interesting architecture and history.

My wife and I have just spent a few days at the Schoolhouse. The room has plenty of space and the housekeeping team do an excellent job. Despite the hotel being on a main road, it’s very peaceful at night. All meals we had there were spot on, and it’s just a short walk to the cafes, restaurants and shops. There’s also free parking. Great find!

Lift was out of order. One female staff member requires extensive customer service training as it was non existent. Standing over people to promptly finish their drinks is not an acceptable way to treat hotel guests & customers. There was also no residents bar facilities. Breakfast was also of a poor standard. Requested a call back from the duty manager, still waiting?

The beds are huge, bedrooms spacious with a patio and the staff are very friendly. By far the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The decor is absolutely beautiful and the breakfast was very tasty. We also had a trip to the restaurant and the food there was beyond expectations

At the front desk, Marian is one of the most helpful people I have ever met! She is a treasure, and I would stay here based on the excellent service she provided. As she was helping me, several guests commented on how fantastic she was, and one called her a star. She is a true gem!
