Our second stay in a matter of months. What a fabulous hotel, a beautiful set of restored Victorian townhouses overlooking the harbour at Dun Laoghaire, an enviable spot. Our welcome was warm, receptionists and the ladies in the bar were so genuine, a smile and a kind word go a long way. There are pushbikes in the foyer that can be borrowed, whilst we didn’t avail, it was a lovely touch. Our rooms were scrumptious, our bed super comfy, with a well stocked bathroom and lots of little extra comforts: a hot water bottle if you are a little chilly, a sun hat for warm weather and a gorgeous straw bag to carry your bits and bobs (there is a charge if you fall so much in love with these that you mistakenly take them home!). We upgraded to rooms to ones overlooking the harbour and were so pleased we did, it was fabulous to sit at the window watching the world go by with a coffee. Both rooms were fabulous. The receptionists was a fantastic source of local knowledge and suggested a stop off at Dalkey on our way to Dublin, a lovely little place.
