Sonder Mountjoy Square

We booked the hotel on March 1st, as it was an early flight, we wanted to check in at the earliest time possible, so to check in at 1.00pm, we was told it would be 40 Euros extra We arrived around 10.45, spoke with the receptionist and asked what sort of time our room would be ready, after a few enquiries she said it’s ready now So I asked if my room is ready now is there any chance you can reimburse me, she said sorry no Very disappointed with, seemed like an easy way of getting more money out of you The room was nice, bed was a little to small I won’t be using Sonder again

Location is excellent !! Could have a bigger sign out front to help with finding the hotel. The rooms are fabulous, clean, large and comfy but the bed was uncomfortable being lumpy and had big dents in mattress on both sides is mattress. The bathroom had a bad smell but I think that may be an issue in Ireland entirely 🤷‍♀️ hotel staff were helpful.. also I booked the hotel with a laundry but it was out of order which was another cost to me finding a laundry. Overall great hotel. Felt very safe being a solo traveller

Absolutely disgusted by this hotel/apartment. Booked for work and on arrival unable to check in as they needed myself to do it and was for one of our employees. They finally let him stay as it was so late. Booked a superior apartment @ £1500 and got the attached photos. Broken door, unsafe and freezing due to bein gin the basement. The only positive I have is that I contacted customer service and they changed the booking to another hotel and did offer a free taxi but we have a work van so didn't need. Got a refund for that one night which was good of them.

Very disappointed in our first try staying at a Sonder. Mildew smell in bathroom and bedroom,leaky shower, very small bed, overwhelming bed cover, dirty towel from prior occupant left in bathroom, stale water left in coffee maker, dodgy area to stay. Only bright spot was friendly staff and easy check in and out.

Great room, super friendly staff! Close to the city center either by bus or walk!

Requested an infant bed which was never received. Arrived with my 2 and 7 year olds from England and had to share a small double which had a bed bug on! There were hairs in the shower and on the bathroom floor! The glass table was broken making it dangerous for kids. The TV didnt work properly either but was told there were no smart tvs. Due to the bed bugs we had to move rooms the same evening and the other room was more like i had actually booked and paid even had a smart tv!! The cleanliness still wasnt great though and while out shopping with my children I receive an email stating a reservation had been made elsewhere at another location, causing so much anxiety understandably! We made our way back and I couldn't get in as they couldn't give me the access code for the door. I booked an early flight home with my toddler and 7 year old who is autistic as the whole experience was really unsettling for her especially, what a waste of time and money! Definitely overpriced too!! I contacted Sonder customer services before leaving and having explained the situation to them they understood why I'd like a refund. The manager has since declined to give any form of a refund to myself and I have had not a single bit of communication from them either! Says it all really.

Pros of the property: Everything you need from a self catered room. Good amount of crockery and utensils, decent sized fridge etc. We have controls over our room temperature which was great as we hate it hot and could turn the temp down. I requested some extra pillows via the app - this isn’t something the apartments normally do but within minutes a member of staff brought me some. All staff members we met were polite and friendly which really made a difference. The site itself doesn’t really have any views - it’s more of a base to stay in than a destination. I would say the biggest issue was the bathroom and shower which smelt damp (though were clean) - there didn’t seem to be an extractor fan - and the very small shower. Overall for the location I think we got value for money.

Very clean and stunning apartment. Helpful staff and very attentive chat support also. All facilities worked well and I’d highly recommend sonder even for family holidays. They are willing to help with whatever was needed and go the extra mile to make the stay a memorable one
