We stayed for 10 nights and overall, it’s an excellent place to visit and would come back: Hotel • Not quite a 4 star but not far off either. Best left to the people that do the ratings • Clean, tidy and quite rooms • The hotel is in a good location for the beaches and local bars and restaurants • Bath is a bit too much of a climb to get into (I’m 5ft 10) and needs a step to make it safer • The slight mould around tile grouting would be a 5 minute job to remedy. Others have raised this, please action it • Breakfast – very good. Lots of choice and coffee is excellent • Lunch – very good a la carte menu • Dinner – A little low budget eg Saturday night has mini burgers and often lacking in some local specialities. I suggest an a la carte menu is offered as well for those that are not on HB. Sometimes we would prefer to stay at the hotel for the evening, this would help • Housekeeping service – very good • Bar – very good with local and branded drinks • Some English TV channels other than BBC World Service, Sky News International and Al Jazeera English would help. We used SkyGo over the internet but not everyone has similar. Hotel Wifi reliable and fast • Staff come across as very friendly, polite, helpful, enthusiastic and well trained across all Depar**ents inc Reception, Dining, Spa and Housekeeping • Spa - very good. Jacuzzi, steam room etc and reasonably priced massages. Had an total body massage and it was excellent • Pool area - cabana excellent and plenty of sunshine from breakfast onwards. It is much better than what earlier updates on this site suggest. Lovely and a nice breeze from the sea too. Some loungers near the hotel wall will be in the shade for most of the day • Fantastic location to watch the sunset • Some modernisation needed, mostly in the rooms themselves eg mattresses – you can feel the springs, net curtains are old and need a wash, rug around the bed and the Spa area looks a little ‘old’. The other areas of the hotel, in general, were good • Easy walk to the bars and restaurants around Sunset Beach • Cats – lots of them and all friendly! • No4 Bus service is directly outside the hotel and is a gem of a service • Good internet connectivity and performance whilst we were here • Aircon - on or off. We were unable to determine if on or off as it says it is off until 1st June then found it pumping out cold air. Then went off, so gave in and asked for and received a fan. This and opening the window helped. Resort itself • Every bit as beautiful as the brochures and pictures • As we were out of season (Mid May), no beach loungers were set out in the resort beaches. This was a disappoin**ent and not one we were alone with. The Uvala hotel pool area is good, but sitting on the beach would have a been a nice option. This is one for the local council • Most visitors eat 7-9pm and then things quieten off. It’s not really a place for a late night drink • Some excellent restaurants eg Restaurant More, Levatat, Casa,
