Location - a very pretty location overlooking Lapad bay and out to sea. A promenade right outside will take you into Lapad, but don't overlook exploring the area behind the bus stop (across the road from the hotel) where you will find a few other bar's/restaurants/shops, a Beach Club (expensive) and a public beach (Copacabana - recommended). Pools- Quite a few to choose from. Our favourite was the small one just opposite the Royal Terrace restaurant/above the spa. The rooftop Infinity Pool and Cocktail bar aren't excessively publicised in the hotel and are relatively quiet but a real hidden gem. Access to the sea is available, via ladders, at various points. Food - buffet breakfast at terrace was average, especially for a 5-star hotel, but that isn't necessarily a complaint. The only other food that we eat were a couple of toasties at lunch which were nice. Drinks were great, albeit expensive. Room - lovely, massive bed, nice and comfy. Luxury room with sea view. Cleaned daily, with fresh towels. Nice big TV + mini bar. Bathroom was big, with L'Occitane toiletries!!! Service - couldn't be faulted. All of the staff, from reception to bar were super attentive and friendly. WiFi was the best I've ever had in a hotel, even at the pool area. Overall - a lovely hotel with some an excellent location and features. As per other comments, I'm not sure that it justifies 5 Stars, which is more than just a box ticking exercise, but it's close. Thank you for a lovely weeks holiday.
