Valamar Argosy Hotel

It was such a nice days to spend there. Especially their pool was authentic! We wish we could stay much longer:)

The hotel was in a great location a bus ride away from the Old Town. Activities are advertised and can be booked at the hotel. It was great for a short stay, amazing views, very clean and relaxing spa.

Walking into the resort, I did not get that “immediate WOW”. the room was antiquated. Similar to what I would see in a holiday inn. (Premium King Room type). The pools and breakfast more than made up for the room and initial first impressions. The infinity pool was awesome. Lots of chairs and no charge for the pool beds. First come first serve. The sunrise is gorgeous. The breakfast def one of the best I’ve had in Croatia. There are plenty of places to lounge around. You will see some cats roaming the property. They are used to people and very friendly. The service at Capers was slow. Very slow. Took over 20mins to get our drinks. Food was about an hour and half. And check about 30mins. Recommend you skip this restaurant and just go into downtown. Or go to the Presidente Valamar (down the road). Overall a nice hotel. Probably wanna check out the Valamar Presidente next time.

Never been to Croatia before but had been told good things. The hotel itself is modern, spacious and well laid out. Rooms are very comfy, lots of hanging space for clothes, a mini bar thats fully stocked, extra massive fluffy pillows, safe and a very nice bathroom. Outdoor areas are beautifuly landscaped with lots of different areas to sit and relax. 2 pools plus a small pool for children, huge amount of sun loungers plus free towels. The view from the pool area is amazing, you can sit there and look out to sea watching cruise ships go by. The restaurant is beyong amazing, we had breakfast and evening meal. The selection of food was huge. Cooked breakfast, continental and everything in between. Evening meal was the same, a huge selection. My partner is vegetarian and he was very well catered for, huge selection of grilled veggies, salads etc. The restaurant staff were friendly and would do anything to make u happy. The you lady who greated us each morning and evening was so lovely. The indoor pool and spa was perfect on the day that the weather was bad. We booked a massage, hot stone and a sports. Both very relaxing and the staff were fantastic. Evening entertainment was usually a singer in the bar which was a perfect way to end the day with. Local bus was easy to access and a short trip to the old city. There are small beaches just down from the hotel but only looked at them. I would definitely stay again. The best hotel i have ever stayed in. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

The Valamar Argosy Hotel, lovely hotel,stunning views, we had quite a small room but it was nice and clean, no balcony which was a shame and our view was the car park (must remember to upgrade next time). We were bed and breakfast but you can go half board or full board, the restaurant and food each evening is very good, we ate here a few nights and was never disappointed, breakfast is also great and has a large choice. Rooms are cleaned everyday. Although the towels are a little old and worn, could do with an update. Evening entertainment was good and enjoyed the music in the bar area every evening. Bar staff also lovely guys. Majority of staff were friendly, however we did have a couple of incidents and other people had the same, the first was the manager of the restaurant in the morning, they put teapots out but seem to miss the teapot lids when we asked she went to a draw got one out and didn’t put any on the side for anyone else, which I thought was very strange, they also do not supply little milk jugs for the teapots which again is very strange, we watched several people over the course of our visit struggle with cups and glasses of milk trying to pour a little in there cups and at the same time spilling it everywhere. The other thing was the grill at lunch time, they only seemed to offer large meals on the menu, no paninis, sandwiches, not everyone wants a large pizza or pasta for lunch, something light would have been good. Plus prices were quite steep. The other thing was the pool area, the guys who provide the towels and umbrellas were quite rude on a few occasions, they refused an umbrella one day until I pointed out that I am very pale and need protection (should I have to explain this, no I don’t think I should) one of the chaps one day asked my husband if he was too hot, again my husband had to explain that I needed it, why are you even asking these questions and in a manner that appears unnecessary. Sun beds very basic and uncomfortable for a 4 star hotel I think.

First of all the positives. The staff, the food, the communal areas and the views are all exceptional. Our main disappointment though was with regards to our room. We had paid extra for a balcony with a sea view, and the views were stunning. However we did feel that the room was in desperate need of being painted. Also it wasn't very quiet, even though the room was private. Our neighbours, the housekeepers, and other various sounds did disturb us quite regularly, which was a shame. But all in all we enjoyed our stay for the most part

Hotel is good - lots of well kept public areas to relax & read. Good, quick Wifi. Rooms are basic but clean. For me, the staff are excellent - efficient & polite. The bar staff provide an excellent service. The outside pool area is clean & has a fantastic view - especially at sunset. Would recommend

Great location, lovely views out to sea. Lovely food and choice. Staff are very nice in the med restaurant and go out of their way. Hotel is very clean, the outdoor pools are lovely with views across the bay. Short bus ride into the center of Dubrovnic.

Couldn’t fault any of the staff from reception to room service, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Karmen the concierge helped organise trips and dining staff were excellent. Even the thunderstorms couldn’t dampen the holiday. Would definitely recommend
