Valamar Argosy Hotel

The hotel was in a great location a bus ride away from the Old Town. Activities are advertised and can be booked at the hotel. It was great for a short stay, amazing views, very clean and relaxing spa.

I want to compliment the employees of Hotel Argosy for an exceptional 4 night, 5 day stay at this beautiful hotel. Ivan Burin, who is the Meetings and conventions organizer worked with us for over 5 months down to every last detail for our small group conference we held there. The hotel had just opened for the season on April 24th, which was our first day there and everything was excellent. The food was excellent and daily breakfast was plenty. The staff in the lobby bar and front desk was accomodating, kind and always available to help. We will be holding our 2025 retreat there again as the service is fantastic and the location is ideal. Far enough from the hustle of the old town, but close enough to take the bus there and be there in 10 minutes. Near the hotel there is excellent paths for walking and some local stores where you can buy anything you forgot to bring. It's a gem in paradise! The sunset views in the evening were exceptional! A lovely hotel, with very friendly & helpful staff. Lovely location & views. Very comfortable room & facilities, the outdoor pools are unheated so a bit cool but the indoor one is lovely and warm. Lovely restaurant & food, loads of choice an all fresh & tasty. 2 minutes walk to a bus stop to get a cheap & regular bus straight to the old town. Happy to recommend and revisit.

I booked this trip on the back of last years holiday with the same provider (Jet 2) which was truly fantastic. Unfortunately I cannot compare this holiday and hold it in the same regard. The hotel itself is in a stunning location with fantastic views across the sea, the staff were all very polite & friendly, rooms were reasonably clean. So the bits I was quite so keen on, the hotel seemed to be used as a transient stop for a large number of coach tour operators which resulted in large numbers of people congregating in a relatively small reception trying to book in/out. As most of these groups were on timed agendas breakfast was often chaotic & uncomfortable as was accessing the bar area which is way too small for a hotel of this size. Add to that it was so busy that there was little or no table service and if you wanted food & drink you had to join the queue at the bar to order. I would really like to thank Filip G & the other Filip as they really did try to go above and beyond in difficult circumstances. It also felt like the hotel wasn't quite ready for the season as there seemed to be a number of areas still being worked on by the maintenance teams whilst we were there. The menu in the bar area needs to be reviewed as it's so narrow that you are limited for choices we ended up having the same meals again a couple of times. We did try the surrounding area (Copa Cabana beach) but strongly recommend you avoid this unless you want to pay out a lot of money for poor value food. I honestly can't fault the staff, they were all very helpful, but the hotel needs to address many areas if it is to attain a true 4* rating.

great location and views from the terrace are amazing. the waiting staff (especially kristijan!) were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. rooms were spotless and a good size. couldn't really have asked for any more. would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay near dubrovnik but not within the old town itself.

This hotel- the Valamar argosy is a hidden gem. Set about 5 km outside Old Town Dubrovnik is a short 15 minutes bus ride away 2 euros. This is a 4 star hotel with brilliant staff who make this hotel what it is. Special mention and shout outs to 2 staff in particular Fillip G in the bar and Medina on the front desk at breakfast for their professionalism, courteousness and being so welcoming and friendly. These two valued staff members epitomise this hotel and the Valamar brand. Very well done. The hotel was exceptionally clean, had many facilities and being visited in May at the start of the season was not overly busy. The pools and saunas are to die for. The views of the Adriatic Sea with huge cruise ships and islands in front of our rooms were exquisite. Brilliant hotel, staff and amenities. Value for money paid. Highly recommended.

Happy stay at the Argosy. Relaxed, easy atmosphere in this ‘designed for adults’ hotel. A good size whilst not too large. Friendly staff. Enjoyable buffet breakfasts with sea views. Great scattered seating areas outside, and 2 pools. About 20 min easy bus ride into the old town. Shame the pool bar and restaurant were being redone this week.

We booked a superior room, and had a lovely sized room and balcony, with views of pool and sea. Hotel is spotless Breakfast has lots of choice and good quality. Egg station great. Live music most evenings. The location makes it really, you can walk into lapad restaurants in evening..area approx 1.1 miles 30 mins...along costal path very pretty too. Plus during day other path pass two beach bars, and into main port area 1.8 miles. No 6 bus takes you to walled city. If fancy a walk back to hotel it's 4 miles. Uber and bolt best bet. There are a few local restaurants next to hotel also.... Asia Chinese very good. Top tip....try Mango kitchen restaurant in lapad, great Pizza!!! Book for sunset tables too. For the money this hotel is great. Enjoy
