Dreadful stay. Loud music all night, kept windows closed and wore headphones in bed. No one answered phone. No sleep after 12 hour journey!! Worst night in a hotel I've ever experienced. Why were we not informed of a party!? I'm shocked at their total disrespect for clients who've paid for a room to sleep in

My partner and I recently visited along with our baby for two nights. A very affordable hotel which has a great front impression to the outside, plenty parking to the rear. 5 minute drive to the nearest train station which is £4 return into Edinburgh city centre, ideal location for us. When we arrived there was no travel cot in the room as requested at the time of booking but it only took the staff 5-10 minutes to arrange and set up in our bedroom. The staff member attempted to make the travel cot more comfortable for my baby by adding a duvet covered in a fitted sheet but anyone with a baby knows this is not safe due to risk of overheating. It wasn’t an issue as I removed it myself but staff should be made aware not to do this in future. Our room was very clean and spacious with a TV, large bathroom and tea/coffee facilities. It looked onto the side of the building which was perfect for us, no issues with noisy traffic. My partner found the bed incredible uncomfortable whereas I was quite comfortable, so it would be down to personal preference. Breakfast both mornings included in the price is a huge bonus and it was fine both days, a mixture of toast, cereals, yogurt (none on the first day) and plenty choice for a cooked breakfast. The staff provided me with fruit for my baby to eat which was great. On the second night of our stay (Friday) there was obviously some sort of event in the hotel downstairs that included a singer/band and it appeared to be very well attended evening. Unfortunately it was the worst part of our stay due to the sheer level of noise coming from directly below us from around 8pm -11pm or thereabouts. Neither of us slept and my baby woke up multiple times as a result of the noise. I really wish the staff had been more attentive to the fact that they could see our booking included a baby and would decide to put us to a quieter end of the building rather than directly above the bar area. We didn’t complain on the night as we weren’t expecting anything to be done about the noise if we complained and the thought of having to move my baby and all our things to another room was not ideal. We just wish the staff realised this would cause a high level of disruption to a baby and would try to accommodate a better room away from the noise. I wanted to complain in person the following morning but despite waiting and waiting, the front desk was not manned when checking out. Overall a good hotel but our experience was ruined by the last night due to the noise.

Just returned from a 3 night stay with another couple, our room was lovely and clean, tea and coffee facilities with biscuits, bed and pillows extremely comfortable, the only downside for us that our room was on the roadside and we could hear a lot of traffic (bring ear plugs) maybe new windows or extra glazing would help We ate at the hotel 1 evening the steak pie is amazing, very tasty and tender meat, the fish and chips were also approved of by the hubby. Great selection at breakfast toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausages, black pudding, beans etc all seemed to be of good quality and tasted good The hotel had a singer on the Friday night she was brilliant amd super friendly speaking to her after the show The staff as a whole are good, they're all very friendly just a couple of points, chewing gum is not really a look you want your waiting on staff to have! Also they need to keep an eye on things at breakfast when they're running out like plates, eggs etc Had a lovely stay and will return again X

Enjoyed my stay in this modestly priced hotel. My room was refurbished and I was pleased with it. Tea making facilities are nice to have. Heating not on full blast on arrival so I could sleep without worrying about boiling! Staff were young but pleasant and effective. Miniscule criticisms - shower curtain was 6 inches too long, get a tape measure before buying in future! Breakfast was good but too meaty, a full Scottish/English needs non meat items (tomatoes, beans, mushrooms etc etc) to contrast with the meat. Would happily stay there again and recommend it to others.

Our second visit to The Adamson. Returned today after a 2 night stay in a family suite. Another lovely stay. Attentive staff. Immaculate rooms and communal spaces. Reasonably priced. The only thing we found not top spec was the shower head. It wasn't powerful enough for us, but that's personal preference. Front of house and waiting staff very friendly and accomodating. In room facilities included hairdryer, kettle X2 and enough tea/ coffee/ biscuits for all. Toiletries included also. Would definitely recommend for a luxury feeling stay and service. Thank you to everyone.

We asked for early book in and they kindly accommodated this. Room was suitable for our stay, clean and tidy. Only down side was our breakfast, we sat with our friends, we ordered 4 full breakfast 2 arrived and had to wait a while for the other 2.

The day before we arrived I phoned Reception as my wife would need gluten free bread for breakfast because of her diet, yes kitchen staff will be told. Friday morning at breakfast no gluten free bread no one new about it, the girl then went to the Co-op and got gluten free bread, Saturday morning no gluten free bread it had gone so the girl went and got gluten free rolls yes from the Co-op so not a nice start to both days as we were attending a family Funeral

My uncle was staying at this hotel recently and we arranged to meet for dinner. We sat in the bar with a couple of drinks 1st of all as we had booked a table all was fine. We ordered our meals, my mother bit into her burger, it was completely raw!! It was bright red. Hardly an apology, had to speak to 2 members about this. They did offer to make another one eventually but my mum was put off, and could she have a steak pie instead? Yes was the reply but there would be a 20 minute wait. Which was Understandable as it’s apparently made fresh. Staff were very rude, and no one wanted to apologise for this. Nothing offered in the way in of an apology! When you’re paying more expensive prices, you expect better. £15 for a not so special RAW burger, £16 for the steak pie and all I can say about this was the broccoli was the nicest part ! I’m sorry but I can get better from Wetherspoons for half the price !
