The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful and beautiful environment, the restaurant is so elegant, and there are check-in spots everywhere, it’s super beautiful!

This is a great place to stay! The staff are very kind and helpful, the rooms are wonderful - lots of power points in useful places! - and the location is lovely, close to the railway station, a short walk into the centre and some beautiful riverside walks. I’ll definitely be back.

The venue is unique in it's style and character which struck us straight away as did the very warm welcome from the owner. The food is very good and the staff are friendly, happy to chat and give advice regarding things to do and see. Or if you just want to relax you can see simply sit out in the courtuard and look at the gardens. Simply marvelous ... As good as it looks in the photographs.

Although we booked 3 months in advance, we were placed in a room overlooking the kitchen garbage bins and the service entry to the kitchen where the noise from the kitchen staff continued until after 11pm. We were misled by the desk staff regarding dinner seating, informing us that seating wasn't available until a later hour than we wished when in fact the restaurant was never more that a quarter fulll. The risotto was gloppy and tasteless and we waited over a half hour to be served after ordering. The staff was courteous but small and very overworked. The room was clean and comfortable but the garbage and the noise made the experience entirely unpleasant.

Avoid rooms with the numbers 12 - 12 - 13 - 14 - 15 Located above the kitchen - if you like to look at mossy roofes and waste bins and skipps out of your window this is most certainly the perfect rooms!! The sound of glass bottles been thrown in the bins every20 minutes is somewhat annoying !! But we where pleased to be told that they stop seving at the bar at 11pm so the bottles crashing will stop ???

Great location for arrival by train and within easy walking distance of the centre. Staff were very nice and friendly at all times. The food is very good and value for money. Would be happy to stay here again.

Nice property, room was spotless . Breakfast was very average, polite staff and convenient location for train station and Durham itself but overpriced in my opinion at £179. I would stay again but at a lower price.

This is the second time I've stayed at The Kingslodge - I love this hotel. The location is very close to the station and the shops. The food is excellent & the staff are wonderful. I will be back again!!
