Stayed 2 nights in a supposed twin room, which I think they upgraded us to a family room that had a bathtub :D location is 2 mins walk from the town hall with lots of resturant around & 10 mins from railway station. Very friendly staff who greets you every morning. Didn’t have breakfast included but the meal deal was pretty attractive (2 course meal + breakfast + drink for £24.99) so my friend and I decided to go for breakfast next morning (£9.90 for unlimited cooked + continental). Love the energy of the staffs :D

The hotel had been refurbished since our last stay in 2022. We arrived before check in opened, so were able to store our luggage in the luggage room. An easy check in process and a member of staff helped register our room keys. Our room was well equipped, looked fresh and modern and the beds provided very comfortable sleeps. Given its location close to Durham's attractions, we would definitely stay here again.

The staff make this hotel. Everyone we encountered was so warm & friendly but a special shout to Colleen, she was lovely. Breakfast was great. Room was lovely (basic room) the only 2 things we didn't like was the loo roll was really really cheap & there is no air con in the basic room so had to have the window open. 1st night someone was arguing on the phone really loudly on the street right outside our room at 3.30am . The 2nd night a car parked on the street outside our room at 3am playing really loud music. If we had aircon we wouldn't have had to have the window open & probably slept soundly. We would stay again but take our own loo roll & request a fan.

Stayed here multiple times. Bar on ground floor designed nicely. Staff seem capable and pleasant. Room quite a nice size a bit larger than the majority of other hotels in the area. Previously I preferred to stay in the townhouse or 40 winks . This is now my preferred place as there is a car park behind it.

Booked a three night weekend stay in June in a premier plus room. The room was well presented and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The problems occurred regarding a good nights sleep. Firstly the bed made a creaking noise every time you moved. The air con system would not work and the room was unpleasantly hot( a fan was provided, though I would have preferred a working air-conditioning system) To top it off a live band would start up at midnight while 2.30 am meaning we didn't get a restful night. We decided to return home early as we didn't fancy a third night in the room and won't be returning.
