The hotel needs refurbishing. The hot tub, steam room were not working. The pool appeared not clean. Outside the pond needs to be cleaned out. The sofas in the bar area are not comfortable.
The restaurant had leaking water from the ceiling.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly. We stayed in a wing which, while not the most welcoming looking from outside, actually offers warm, large, nicely decorated rooms, with a comfortable bed and excellent shower. Elasewhere, the hotel is full of character and charm (the Italian garden particularly catches the eye), contrasted with a modern pool, sauna and steam room. Finally, the jacuzzi is excellent, although the button to operate the bubbles is currently difficult to operate - bear with it. Overall, superb value for money - already booked to return in a month’s time.

Looked at photos of hotel and rooms before we booked and the hotel looked lovely. On arrival we were sent to the back of the main hotel and what a difference to the photos on the website. It looked dirty. When we went into our room it looked fairly clean until we went into the shower where the the plug hole was filled with hair and dirty slime. When complained it was cleaned the next day but surely this should have been cleaned to start with. When we walked in the garden we found that some of the bricks were missing making it uneven to walk on and there were rusty seats and tables to sit on and the swinging chair was not fixed to the floor and when we sat on it it tipped up. I have sent a letter with these comments to the hotel with no response. Poor customer service.

Very nice room in garden block. Clean comfortable and with tea and coffee facilities. Nice toiletries in bathroom. This is very much a conference centre which might not suit people who are looking for more than a couple of nights stay.

Lovely venue, main house is lovely. Room clean, comfortable and cools.
Evening meal very poor. Waited for over an hour between ordering and being served. Food must have been stored under a heat source for a while as fish batter rock hard and peas inedible. Waited so long ate it despite this. Breakfast was good though.

We were made very welcome on a special spring offer. Friendly staff and comfortable room Although the rooms are not in the main building. Very pretty surroundings and very near Abingdon which is certainly worth a visit. Lovely pool and jacuzzi which was enjoyed by both of us! A relaxing place for a relaxing stay. Well done Milton Hill!
