First class hotel. The check in was quick as was check out. The room and bathroom was spotless, very comfortable beds and a nice selection of toiletries in the bathroom. The food at breakfast and dinner were delicious and served on hot plates. There was plenty of choice, something for everyone. We had lunch in the lounge area and again, the food was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful!

Had afternoon tea for mum's birthday. The cakes and sandwiches were all delicious, there was plenty of tea/coffee and hot chocolate for mum. The staff made an effort for mum's birthday giving her a chocolate with 'Happy Birthday' written on it and also a card We were sat in the conservatory and had a good view of the sea.

We couldn’t fault our 48 hours at The Hydro Hotel in Eastbourne recently - beautiful setting - probably the best in Eastbourne! Very comfortable en suite rooms, excellent food for both dinner and breakfast and, most importantly, very helpful and friendly staff at reception. The only disappointment was the weather! Incredible value as a special Spring Break.

Have been a guest at the Hydro for over 50 years now. First visit I was taken there aged 10 . On regular visits back to Eastbourne I would not even consider staying at another hotel.It has definitely the best location of all hotels in Eastbourne having glorious views of the best seafront and the iconic Beachy Head.. The staff are professional _ diligent, welcoming and helpful. The rates are good value for such a quality hotel. Meals in the impressive dining room are of a high standard and breakfasts are a particular treat to look forward to. Some young friends suggest that it could be more modern in decor but I don't consider this to be a negative and judging by its obvious popularity I am not alone in finding the ambiance warmly inviting.

We have been starying at the Hydro Hotel for over 40 years and always enjoy its traditional feel and excellent service. The rooms are comfortable and public areas are spacious with lovely gardens, grounds and swimming pool. The food is excellent and we particularly enjoy the wonderful breakfast. Overall, the Hydro is excellent value for money and we highly recommend to all our friends.

The Hydro is old-school, but in a good way. The interior looks much like it must have looked a hundred years ago, but is immaculately clean and beautifully kept - perhaps patina is the word. Dinner was great and not overly expensive, and there's a huge choice at breakfast, including gluten-free options. Hot items are cooked to order. But perhaps The Hydro's greatest asset is its staff, who were uniformly welcoming and personable, and quick about their work. We ordered bar snacks before heading out to the theatre, and they arrived five minutes later. Overall, a lovely traditional seaside hotel, which goes straight onto our (fairly short) list of hotels we wouldn't mind visiting again.

There is little more to say other than this is an outstanding hotel. One night is not long enough. We had a rear facing room and the view isn’t great, but that was our choice. Reception and waiting staff were spot on, and this is the only occasion where I could not eat all my breakfast. Yes, we would come again.

We celebrated my Mother's 90th birthday in the Orangery room at the Hydro Hotel, we had 17 people in attendance and the room was perfect for them, the table set up and decorations were perfect. We chose a traditional afternoon tea which was both good quality and reasonably priced......no one went home hungry! The staff were attentive without being overbearing. One observation was that there was no signage to the Orangery room and some of our guests did get slightly lost, it is a private room situated off the main dining room with additional access available from the car park
