When I checked in at night, a waiter at the counter had a very bad attitude. I booked a family room. When I checked in, I asked me to make up the money. Because there were only two adult names when I registered, I didn’t fill in the data of two children, so I must make up the money to stay with the children first. I explained to him that he ignored it. I must make up the money. I said that my book is a family room. If only two people have to stay, I will ask for a book room. I also said that because I can only fill in two people when I fill out the form, I can add to the third and fourth place, but I insist on making up the money all the way. I don’t listen to me. The attitude is very bad. Finally, another staff member helped me check it out before I entered the room.

I've never stayed in a hostel before, let alone in a former jail revamped as one ! Besides the gimmick, the Court is a wonderful place to stay if you are visiting Edinburgh, whether on a budget or not : fantastic location near the St Giles cathedral (where city tours seemingly start from), super friendly staff and surprisingly clean amenities (first time experience in a hostel so I didn't know what to expect quite frankly). Would definitely recommend !

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The hotel was just as described and lived up to my expectations. The location was perfect for exploring the city, with many attractions and restaurants within walking distance. Amazing stay! Went to Edinburgh as a surprise for my husband's birthday. The staff went out of their way to make it special and even came to the room to wish him Happy Birthday, along with a card and prosecco! They were friends, welcoming and informative. A beautiful, modern hotel and they really have thought of everything (milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, water etc). Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay extra special.

We were soles tired right off the plane after figuring out that I had no license and could not get my rental car :( I took it well pouted and walked away. We took the Tram to St Andrew's Square. We needed to be in The border lands in Peebles. We stopped at the Edinburgh Grand. The men at the desk couldn't have been nicer! They called a taxi service not once but twice! They held our bags and said that their was a bar upstairs we could wait at with a wonderful and sweet cocktail waitress and relax. They came and got us when he arrived. Carried our bags to the taxi for us. We will tell this story many times in the future and we will thing of them all fondly.

Situated in the Old Town area, it is just 15 minutes walking distance from the Edinburgh Waverley Station and there are lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. Rooms of the hotel are not that spacious (and some of them do not have a window so it is rather dark if you turn off everything) but is just right fit for everyone. The staff is very helpful and friendly too. Will definitely come again.

We stayed as a family of 4 in the family room the night before my husbands 40th Birthday. There was a cake and decorations in the room on arrival and we had the most stunning view of the castle! We used the pool and then out for dinner in Edinburgh at night. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast the following morning. Overall we loved it and will hopefully make it a yearly tradition.

Good location and close to Waverley station (around 8-9 mins) Bars, Eateries and a Sainsbury is nearby too - Hotel doesnt provide bottled water or toiletries (although on my request i was provided cotton buds and shower cap) The hotel is beginning to age and needs urgent refurbish - we went during summers so needed Air Conditioning at night - with the constant Air con noise - i did not have a good night sleep, had to change my room next day which the staff helped immediately however even in the new room same air con noise issue. If the facilities and rooms are refurbished then would return. Overall decent stay

Great location, just a 3-minute walk from Edinburgh train station. The path to the station is smooth, making it convenient to wheel suitcases. The stairs behind the hotel lead to a stop for the tour bus, making it easy to reach various attractions. However, despite these conveniences, our stay was quite disappointing. We had booked two Superior Double Rooms, but upon our 3 PM arrival, the front desk informed us that only one room was available unless we were willing to wait until 10 PM. Unable to wait several hours, we had to accept a single room, which turned out to be very small and dark. The hotel's soundproofing is also extremely poor. You can hear every single word clearly from the neighbouring room. If your neighbours have noisy kids, it could ruin your stay. Loud children awakened me at 6 AM. Our experience fell well below our expectations given the hotel's pricing. I do not recommend it.
