West Edmonton Mall Inn

This was a convenient place for us to stay, close to our niece for a visit. The staff were very nice, welcoming and friendly. However, the Inn is very old and it shows. It needs fresh carpets, paint and although the lady preparing the free breakfast was wonderful, the facilities and variety of food was very poor. It was set up in what appeared to be a converted hotel room on the 3rd floor, so not very roomy for the number of guests attending. There was pancakes, toast, boiled eggs, some yogurt and fruit and coffee. We didn't bother, especially as there was a lineup out into the hallway.

It's really close to the Edmonton mall but the hotel is quite old, definitely some enhancements. No breakfast provided because of COVID.

Great location to the mall

Front desk staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful. Carpets throughout smelled and caused all 3 of us to have allergy issues in the suite. Also, it was difficult to get an elevator in the morning as it was always occupied by staff. As I have mobility issues, taking the stairs was not an option. My scooter doesnt fit in the elevator with laundry trollies etc...

When we arrived to check in, we had to continuously circle the parking lot until someone left, so that we could get a parking spot. The parking is really inconvenient if you have a truck or larger vehicle. When we finally got parked and brought our things in to check in, we stood there and waited for about 5-10 minutes for the front desk agent who was very clearly on a cellphone call, we could hear her in the back office laughing, to finish her call and check us in. She was fine, friendly enough I suppose once she actually greeted us. We got up to our room and immediately noticed the huge dark red stain on the ceiling, and on the walls. I decided to check the bedding, and sure enough there were stains all throughout and especially- blood stains. I understand some stains are tough and not everything will come out but at that point just get new sheets or bedding. I then discovered black hairs all over the pillow cases, that night I went to bed wearing a hoodie- with the hood up so that I didn’t have to touch the bed.

Staying here was super convenient. Within walking distance of the mall and all sorts of things to do. Price was right. Clean, safe, easy check in and out. The only thing I wish I knew before, booking through their company would have ensured some extra discounts with our excursions. Of course that was not included as ******* is a 3rd party.
