The friendly and cheerful staff, the exciting game drives, an outdoor shower, the water next to the room attracting all manner of wild life - these were all expected at Camp Shawu. But they do have a chef that produces absolutely amazing dishes. You could come visit just for that!

Ficamos instalados no Camp Shonga, um lodge pequeno com 5 tendas/quartos, estivemos sozinhos dois dias, o que foi muito bom. Excelente experiência. Muito bem recebidos, fizeram-nos sentir como se estivéssemos em nossa casa. Desde o chefe Steven, as duas jovens que tão bem o ajudam, a comida maravilhosa, a simpatia e disponibilidade de todo o staff e a limpeza. A experiência de tomar banho tendo como tecto o céu estrelado, ficar numa tenda com todas as comodidades, brutal. Único, mas pequeno senão, a iluminação na tenda poderia ser melhor. Quanto aos Rangers, o Harold foi excelente, muito simpático e atencioso, 5 estrelas. Explicou todos os animais que víamos, o seu modus vivendi e onde se encontravam . Parava o veiculo para podermos fotografar, sem pressas. Já depois ficámos com outro Ranger, Texas, simpatico mas mais reservado, pouco falador (a não ser com os seus colegas via rádio), menos disponível para explicar o que víamos. Mudou radicalmente o seu comportamento, quando tivemos a companhia de uma família norte americana (dão melhores gorgetas???). Recomendo vivamente esta experiência. Vimos os Big 5, entre muito outros animais.

Look no further for a perfect safari experience. The lodging is in a private section of the Park with perfect access to animals. Saw all the big 5 in three days. Solomon went above and beyond in ensuring good experience. The staff are friendly and ensure all needs are met. Will recommend all my friends stay here.

Quelle meilleure expérience de safari que cette plongée au cœur du bush sud africain? Les tentes, malgré quelques petits défauts, sont spacieuses et offrent tout le confort possible. Le personnel accueillant et dévoué répond à toutes vos attentes. Les repas concoctés sur place sont de facture simple mais restent goûteux et surtout copieux. L’organisation est parfaite et notre ranger, Texson, à réussi avec un professionnalisme sans pareil, à nous montrer l’ensemble des big five… et plus encore ! Nous garderons un merveilleux souvenir de ce voyage et n’avons qu’une envie… revenir !

Impresionante lugar, de los mejores del mundo. Todas las situaciones de la naturaleza, que uno se pueda imaginar. Es un lugar ideal para ir en familia solo o acompañado. El Ranger Harold un genio, nos condujo a ver a los big five y a todos los animales del lugar. Experiencia única.

Recurring visitor as always the service is top notch, was worried when we heard our manager had left us but it turned out well the new manger knows her stuff so it was good. Rangers as always blow me away, this time our Ranger was Sifiso Nkosi. That man has the eyeofan eagle and nature seems to love him as we saw 3 of big five interchangeably every safari. We did see the big five which is almost impossible to achieve. The staff as always, accommodates us and our personal needs. We do ice baths and they always hook us up.

Amazing facility in Kruger National Park. Private villas were very luxurious and the outdoor shower was a highlight. The twice daily safaris included drinks and food enroute whilst viewing the wildlife. The guides were very knowledgeable and were committed to ensuring guests saw all the animals. Meals were included and provided different options each day.

Myself and my daughter spent two nights three days in the SHONGA lodge tents. I can not recommend this experience enough. We had Steven as chef and a lovely lady plus Texan as our safari driver . We were very lucky to have the whole camp to ourselves and everyone made us super welcome! The food was insane and you will never be hungry. We went on two safari per day and one in the morning on our last day. We saw everything from elephants, Lions and was lucky to see a Leopard after a kill. All the team welcomed everyone with a smile and hello even at 5 am for the morning trips. The camp is run by generators so no wi- fi which we actually enjoyed and lights out by 10pm. The do provide you with a torch. There is an outdoor shower, so get ready in the morning to say hello to the monkeys. We also saw a group of elephants walk past whilst we relaxed by the pool. Thank you again Steven and his team. We will definitely recommend this experience and this is solely due to the amazing Safari but Steven and his team, not forgetting Texan who is an amazing informative guide.

My wife and I spent four wonderful days at Camp Shawu, one of the three camps of the Shishangeni property. The camp is located by a waterhole visited through out the day by a wide range of animals. The ladies looking after the camp, Patience, Namcebo, and Chef Ivy are great and made us feel like home. My wife is pescatarian, and Chef Ivy cooked separately for her. There are two game drives every day, one in the morning (6:00-9:00), and one in the afternoon (3:30-7:00). We were lucky to have Sifiso as our guide. He was amazing at spotting animals, and extremely knowledgeable at both flora and fauna, making the game drives a great experience, We did see all Big Five, and a lot of other animals and birds. Thank you Sifiso, Patience, Namcebo and Chef Ivy for an unforgettable experience.
