The lodge is about a ten minute walk to the downtown area. Close enough to walk and far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. I walked to the train station from the lodge, which is about 7-800 meters away. The lodge is situated on the upper portion of the mountain with beautiful views of lush mountainous greenery.
The staff were very accommodating and tried their best to ensure all of my needs were met.

What a special place to visit! Beatyful nature and place. Wake up to the relaxing sounds og nature and enjoy a delicious breakfast on the balcony while watching monkeys, birds and other animals in the forest. This is truly an uniqe place and experience 🌳🌳🐒 The owner is super Nice and helps out with everything you might need, from taxis, tuktuk or things to do in Ella! He also makes and realy good breakfast. Can really recomend this place 🌞

Was such a lovely stay. A really simple, rustic wood cabin nestled in the trees. We were lucky enough to see some wild pigs and a little mouse deer. It's a 5 minute walk to town. And at night, if you walk along the railway, you'll be treated to a stunning night sky and dancing fireflies...

The Eco Lodge has several treehouses. They are clean, comfortable and environmentally conscious. Just a short walk up Waterfall Road, they are easy walking distance to town while still being far enough to be quiet. It is a treehouse though, so you may hear rain, monkeys, birds, etc. The best part though, is the owner Sampath. He brings you a delicious breakfast on your porch every morning. But that should only be the start of your day with Sampath. He took us to Nine Arches bridge, a wonderful and authentic pepper and cinnamon plantation, and to Little Adam’s Peak. He arranged a fabulous massage (very inexpensive by US standards) and a cooking demonstration/ class. Highly recommend a visit to this little treasure!

We fell in love with this lodge for the quality of the host's welcome, whose main concern is to offer an authentic, local and natural experience to his guests: a successful bet! Sleeping in a half-perched shed, surrounded by trees and all the sounds that nature can offer us, a moment that my partner and I simply found magical, even beyond our expectations. To complete this too short stay, the host accompanied us to the "Ella cooking class": one of our best memories, homestay, cooking over a wood fire, fresh products, our meal tasted on site was incredible!

Exceptional Spacious Rooms Washrooms Balcony living space. Friendly staff to serve unreal Fruit breakfasts, tea & directions to Ella Rock lil Adam's Peak nine arches bridge etc. We found the Nature surrounding us with amazing Crickets, frogs & fireflies screeching & lighting at dusk at random places outside. Later in the night all these creatures were making noises in perfect sync. The fireflies were lighting on & off in sync. It was a remarkable Scientific experience for us & loved it & overstayed. Highly Recommended !

The Eco Lodge in Ella is a small hostel with only three wooden huts. The operator Sampath takes great care of you and tries to keep everything natural and ecological. Everything made of wood, only in the bathroom everything is top tiled and clean. Every morning I had a different Sri Lankan breakfast. In addition, Sampath organized a cooking evening, two hikes, a visit to a tea plantation and a massage for me. Besides, there is still freshly washed laundry and some very nice conversations. I would recommend the property to anyone and will definitely come back when in Sri Lanka.
