Room and bathroom were big and fairly modern however details like towel rails and toilet roll holder in the bathroom (non-existing) and a full-sized mirror in the bedroom (only a a tiny one) had been overlooked and would have been nice. The bathroom toiletries advertised were a half empty hand wash bottle on the basin and a half empty shower gel bottle in the shower. A private kitchen was also advertised as included, not sure what they meant by private as someone was using it (I didn't), perhaps they just meant people couldn't just walk in from the street and use it. On arrival, room and bathroom weren't overly clean and there was no cleaning at all during my stay. The room was on the main road and the traffic noise went on till very late and started again very early in the morning. Really hard to sleep. An altogether disappointing experience

We always stay at the Lion & Key when we visit London and have been fortunate enough to stay here again in October, December, and also January for my husbands 80th birthday. This really is the ”Savoy” of the small hotels in London and we always know without fail, we will have the most perfect stay. All the staff genuinely care about their guests having the best experience and you cannot fault the care and attention to detail that this hotel takes to ensure an excellent customer experience. They have a great team of which we would like to thank Giorgio, Kanti and Stephania for making all our visits a home away from home. The rooms and also public areas in the hotel are kept pristinely clean and are bright and cheerful. I love the attention to detail this hotel has even with the smallest thing. i.e. the shower cap in the bathroom also has a small hairband in the box ,which is excellent if you have long hair and can’t find your own! The beds are also extremely comfortable and we both always have an excellent night sleep. We love the open kitchen where you can see all the food being freshly prepared and cooked to order. They are very generous with their breakfast time which doesn’t end until 12 o’clock lunchtime. The choice and range that they offer in their restaurant, regardless of breakfast or main meals throughout the day would accommodate even the most fussiest eaters, which I am, but even I am extremely spoilt for choice as the breakfast menu is so comprehensive. The quality of the ingredients used in the restaurant is first class and so is the time and care in presentation which also reflects the pride that they take. We can honestly say that the breakfast’s we have at the L&K are the most tastiest, freshest, consistently perfect breakfast’s we have ever had and far exceed the quality that we have experienced over the years in 4 & 5 star hotels. To be honest, we often wonder how they continuously provide such care and attention to detail for the customer, even more so since Covid as many many hotels and restaurants seem to still use this as an excuse for a less than perfect service or menu range. We must’ve had over 100 of breakfasts since we have been coming here in 2018 and the eggs are always perfectly cooked with a lovely orange yolk, regardless of whether it’s a normal full English breakfast, or my husbands favorite the Egg Royale. We very rarely eat sausages or bacon at home, but the quality and taste of the ones here are amazing, so we always, always enjoy our breakfast which set us up for exploring all day. The transport links to this hotel are excellent as well. There are four buses that go past the hotel to Leyton underground, one of which is running 24 hours and they seem to come by every few minutes. Stratford is only four stops from Leyton so excellent connections for overground, DLR, O2 etc. Liverpool Street is the next stop along for even more connections so the location we find is a great asset to wherever we

We stayed at Ibis Budget Barking on one of the hottest nights of the year. The air-conditioning worked brilliantly, so we had a much better night than friends who stayed at a much more expensive hotel in central London! We were attending an event at The University of East London SportsDock. It was very easy to get to - just a short walk to the bus stop by Tesco, a 19-minute bus journey which took us very close to the venue - so Ibis Budget Barking is ideal for anyone wanting to go to something in East London. The front of house staff were very courteous and helpful. I have rated this 4 rather than 5 as a kettle ought to be a standard offering in all rooms (in Ibis Budget Portsmouth we had a kettle). But, all in all, an excellent budget location.

This hotel was very hard to locate…. But we eventually managed to get there! There’s no parking! Be aware as this is so inconvenient !so you have to use the BREWERY car park which costs £12 for 24hrs? The actual room was a decent size , matteress was amazing! Bathroom was a good size plenty of towels … and tea making facilities provided but not enough teabags, 2 teabags to be precise!🙄stayed here 2 days , there was no room cleaning, so this was very disappointing! As for the buffet breakfast everything was very overcooked especially the eggs , hash browns where like mash ( crumbling) however there was cereal fresh fruit & juices but the actual cooked foods were terrible (chef needs replacing) & I wouldn’t recommend it at all . There are lots of food outlets nearby so you don’t have to pay for the hotels distasteful breaky! The bar & dining area is pleasant overall the stay was satisfactory but the cost was too high in comparison!

My wife and I had an amazing night away with some friends. Lovely warm welcome at reception and everything about the hotel was clearly explained. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean with high ceilings a large bathroom. The whole place has a lovely chilled vibe and the downstairs area has recently had a refurbishment and is stunning and even though they were very busy as they had a wedding on the service we received from all the staff was excellent they were all so friendly. We all had a lovely afternoon on the outside terrace sipping cocktails, we also ordered a few small plates of food from the menu which were also very tasty. We had dinner in the Garden room restaurant and it was absolutely amazing, really well presented and cooked to perfection and most importantly tasted delicious. Special thanks to Ilayja our waitress who was so lovely and was so attentive and friendly a real asset to the hotel. We must also mention Erhan the general manager who was running the restaurant who from the minute we sat down was an absolute gentleman. Thank you for making our evening special. After dinner we went and had a drink in the lovely bar before retreating to our room where we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast is buffet style and was also delicious with plenty of choice. So overall we would highly recommend Down Hall and will definitely be returning.

One night before a flight, small room but everything you need for an overnight stay, comfy big bed, tea and coffee making facilities, tv and mini fridge, we had a room at the rear of the hotel so quieter than the front, we would definitely stay again if we had an early flight.

We stopped at this Hotel on 17th September 2022 The Hotel is well placed in a good location, from the hotel there is a transfer bus to the airport every 30-minutes cost £4.00 per person payable on the bus. We booked the hotel through Holiday Extras and the cost included 7-days parking at the hotel, the car parks were large and secure, and you keep the car keys, we had no problems finding a parking space. The room we had was clean and spacious and we could not fault. We ate in the Hotel's Restaurant, the food and drinks were reasonably priced, and our waiter Dimitar was very polite and attenuative. If flying from Stanstead Airport again I would choose this hotel

Close enough to the airport - I walked there in about 35 minutes - although there is very little pavement for pedestrians. Friendly check in and good sized room. Dinner and bar options (open til 10 pm) and good early breakfast with croissants, yoghurt, fruit, coffee machine etc Shuttle bus an affordable £5 (even tho it's less than 2 miles) Efficient and reasonably-prices for a pre or post-flight stay.
