Ich kenne das Hugenpoet seit Kindheitstagen und hätte nicht gedacht, dort jemals das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis loben zu können aber für das Bistro in der Remise kann ich dies tun, und gern. Ein ansprechendes Dinner inkl. Wein unter € 150.- ist möglich und man kommt in den vollen Genuss der Atmosphäre des Anwesens (beim Laurushaus damals nicht). In's 1831 sollte nur der austrainierte Gourmet gehen oder derjenige, der seine Begleitung beeindrucken will/muss. Besonderer Gruß an die Höseler: Es muss nicht immer Düsseldorf sein und wer aus der Serpentine kommend zu spät bremst, missachtet nicht nur die Vorfahrt sondern donnert praktischerweise unweigerlich in die Zufahrt zum Hugenpoet. Ärgerlich war der zunächst mit Zimmertemperatur servierte Weißwein und der Service bot vom älteren Franzosen mit feinsten Manieren alles, bis hin zu einer Dame die auf Ihre Frage, ob ich einen Cognac möchte, sehr dreist auf meine Gegenfrage reagierte ob das als Einladung gedacht sein: O-Ton: "Wenn ich einen Cognac möchte, ist mir egal wer ihn bezahlt". Das habe ich jedoch schon an das Haus selbst berichtet in der Hoffnung, dass es intern besprochen wird. Jedenfalls bitte keine Berührungsängste, das Hugenpoet ist ein Erlebnis und 500 Euro für 2 kann man ausgeben, sogar ohne jede Mühe. Muss man aber nicht. Stephan Platzek

Beste Rumsteak gegessen - gutes Ambiente - sehr netter Service - Die Speisekarte ist ausgefallen - das Essen ist seines Geldes Wert - wir kommen wieder - Spargelzeit auch schon jetzt im März sehr gut - Guten Champagner - Aufmerksamkeit aber nicht aufdringlich.

Wir waren als Paar zum Frühstücken dort. Das Ambiente ist wirklich wunderschön, sehr gediegen und gepflegt. Der Frühstücksraum hat einen wunderbaren Blick in den Park und im Sommer gibt es die Möglichkeit draußen zu sitzen. Der Tisch war bereits mit einer Auswahl an Brot, Brötchen & Croissants, sowie einer Etagere mit einer Wurs& Köseauswahl eingedeckt. Das war auch direkt das erste was mich störte. Ich bin Vegetarierin und hatte gebeten den Wurstteller auszutauschen. Nach den Hygienevorschriften müsste die Wurstplatte eigentlich weggeworfen werden und man wusste auch nicht, wie lange die Lebensmittel dort schon standen. Was für eine Verschwendung und wirklich extrem ärgerlich! Die Auswahl war wirklich ziemlich mau. Man kann natürlich aus der Frühstückskarte einiges nachbestellen. Der Obstsalat bestand aus Apfel, Orange & Ananas, war also nicht sehr umfangreich. Die Avocado wurde pur serviert, keine Deko, kein Zitronensaft oder nur irgendetwas. Lediglich die Eier Bennedict waren wirklich hervorragend und die besten, die ich je gegessen habe. Der Service war sehr nett aber es wurde nicht ein Teller abgeräumt. Wir mussten schon stapeln am Tisch und das sah auch nicht wirklich schön aus. Wir haben am Ende ca. 120€ bezahlt und waren unglaublich enttäuscht.

Wir hatten für unsere Geburtstagsgesellschaft aus 4 Personen Frühstück bestellt. Serviert wurde aber EIN Frühstück (Etagere mit kleinen Einzelhäppchen, je eins pro Sorte) und dem Hinweis, dass wir gerne nachbestellen können, wenn das nicht ausreicht. Dadurch wurde jedes Teil auf der Etagere automatisch zum Anstandsstückchen, weil niemand den anderen etwas wegessen wollte. Trotz mehrfacher Hinweise auf Zweifel unsererseits blieb es dabei. Abgerechnet wurden tatsächlich 4 Frühstücke zu je EUR 36,00. Die Stimmung war komplett dahin, "Nachbestellen" gilt bei vielen immer noch als unschicklich. Genau mit dieser Scham wird hier offenbar Geld verdient. Wenn ich vier Frühstücke bezahle, möchte ich auch vier Frühstücke bekommen.

Absolutely superb hotel. From the moment we stepped in, to dinner with a number of guests and breakfast, nothing was too much for the always smiling staff. A group of us stayed here for Medica rather than pay over the odds for a mediocre hotel in Düsseldorf. Highly recommend and we’re made to feel special.
