We stayed here for a night to break a long drive across Europe to the former East Germany, and picked this hotel as it’s convenient for one of the main autobahns. It is tucked away on a residential street but there was no parking restriction and we were able to park right outside free of charge. The room was small but perfectly clean, the staff attentive and friendly. There was a private party going on downstairs but the soundproofing was surprisingly good and we weren’t bothered by any noise. We ate at the hotel and the food was fine. Nice variety at the breakfast and the little courtyard was open so we could have breakfast outdoors. Would certainly use again.

Ein kleines, familiengeführtes Stadthotel in Essen-West. Für mich war die Nähe zur UK-Essen wichtig, in 3-5 min erreicht man die Straßenbahn, ist nur 4 Stationen bis zur UK-E. Parkplätze sind vor dem Haus (Ruhige Sackgassen-Lage, womit ich nicht leise meine...) Zimmer ist klein, aber tolles Bett, große Dusche. Frühstück (Buffet) einfach, aber absolut ausreichend. Es gibt einen Biergarten und ein Restaurant.

Sucht euch ein anderes Hotel in Essen. An der Rezeption war man der deutschen Sprache nicht sonderlich mächtig, dann musste man mit dem Koffer in einem sehr engen Treppenhaus nach oben stapfen und das Zimmer war sehr klein. Wenn man aufs Klo sitzen sollte, musste man seinen Po am Waschbecken vorbei schlängeln, um sich zu setzen...dazu keine Fenster oder Lüftung. Es war zwar sauber, man hat sich aber nie so ganz wohl gefühlt und war froh, als man abreisen durfte...

Unflexibel, ungastlich, abgewohnt und dreckig! Ein unglaubliches Hotel! Eine Erfahrung die ich kein zweites Mal brauche! Ich wollte den Aufenthalt um eine Nacht kürzen! Wurde abgelehnt! Beim Check in gleich mal Vorkasse! Mit Koffer und zwei schweren Taschen durfte ich mich dann durch ein enges Treppenhaus in die zweite Etage zwängen! Zimmer ist winzig! Bad ohne Abluft und Fenster! Überall Dreck und Staub! Im Bett ein Haar! Matratze völlig durchgelegen auf einer Spanplatte statt Lattenrost gelagert! Wände angestoßen und dreckig! Zimmer kalt und Fenster auf Kipp beim ersten Betreten! Und dann noch ein völlig unqualifizierter Rezeptionist! Ich komme sicher nie wieder

This used to be a nice friendly and cheap hotel. However, they are now under new management. The hotel itself is fine, with nice beds and clean rooms. However prices are aparently variable by the day and hour, If you book for 4 days you may pay E 149 a night, for a total of E 600. Another person arriving 2 days later payed E40 for the same last 2 nights. Additionally, prices from booking in advance (through their own website) are not honoured. Staff is young and inexperienced, and will not make decisions without consulting the owner, who is never available to speak to directly and apparently does not speak English. All in all a terrible experience and the feeling of being scammed.
