Ich bin eine gebürtige Essenerin und kenne deshalb das Hotel schon ewig. Die Lage ist zentral, gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof und mitten in der Stadt. Die Zimmer sind je nach Kategorie geräumig. Ich finde es toll, das man die Fenster öffnen kann. Auch die Betten sind bequem. Frühstück gegen Aufpreis, dort gibt es allerdings Verbesserungspotential. Trotzdem 100% Empfehlung

Wow. What a trip that was to the Essen Spiel convention. And what an excellent hotel we have had the luck of booking a room into. Everything was top notch. We were given a room on the second floor, right across the elevator, in room 226. That was indeed super convenient, since for soundproofing, the windows were always shut, and I'm a smoker, so it made my outside trip to the smoking area easy. Everything in the room was where it should be. Plenty of sockets to plug our electronics in, a desk to put our convention stuff on and make our plans for the following day. Water pressure was spot on in the shower, all-in-one soap was naturally provided in a dispenser and filled daily. Room cleaning was done super meticulously in the morning and the cleaning people were nice and attentive when we happened to stumble upon them. All the staff we ran across were super nice and kind, even though we were always bugging them with annoying and trivial matters. The evening shift at the bar and reception really tried their best to satisfy our bothering demands. Hats off to them for putting up with us. I feel that we may have indeed tested their patience's limits. Despite all our best - or worst - but unintended in honesty - efforts to piss them off, they didn't even lose their smile. Great job, everyone! The cherry on top was the hotel's decision to open up a big room full of tables and chairs for the Spiel attendees to pass the night once the exhibition day was over. Really thoughtful and it's one of those small details that win people over. I'm looking forward to returning to the convention next year, and I'm sure I will be booking a room in this hotel alongside my plane and convention tickets. Keep it up, GHOTEL!

Das Essen war hier wohl grandios. Es schmeckte uns ganz gewaltig. Es war ein Hammer, die ganze Sache. Die Zimmer waren ebenfalls so gut, Ich will ihn auch nicht. Deswegen schicke ich ihn Dir. Wenn Du ihn nicht willst, mach’s wie ich und schicke ihn weiter man es gar nicht glauben konnte.

Having stayed for several days and nights at McDreams Essen, I can say our stay was very pleasant. We found the hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were more than helpful. What we did miss was an electrical point in the basement where people that have disabilities can charge the batteries in their wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Other than that our stay was extremely pleasant and the location was central to all amenities including public transport. Thank for you courtesy and helping us in the time we spent in Essen. Vanuit dit hotel is veel te bereiken op loopafstand. Gunstig dus. Wellicht goed voor diegene die aankomen om bij de rotonde al een bord te plaatsen met de naam van het hotel. Het hotel zelf is best trendy, heel en schoon te noemen. De receptie is 24 uur open. De bar stelt niet veel voor. Dat is jammer. De combinatie van receptionist en bediening van de bar is ook niet handig. De kamer is schoon en netjes. Wat ontbreekt zijn glazen en de dekbedden zijn synthetisch en dus veel te warm. Een betere instructie voor de airco/klimaat zou ook handig zijn. Van de info op tv word ik ook niet veel wijzer. Tijdens slapen het raam openlaten betekent veel lawaai vanaf de straat. Verder een prima basic kamer. Het ontbijt goed uitgebreid en helemaal niets mis mee. Parkeren binnen de hekken kost 10 euro per dag onnodig en niet klantvriendelijk. Voor een kort bezoek aan Oberhausen is dit een prima alternatief.

Very super and clean Satisfaction

Nice hotel. The lady at the reception/bar was very friendly and working very hard. The lobby is nice with some cosy chairs and couches. Rooms are simple , but clean and really quiet. Shower had a decent water pressure. Breakfast was tasty, good variety of food.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights for a trade fair. I absolutely cannot agree with the previous speakers here. Everything was fine with us. The room in the main building was clean and well maintained. The hotel had problems with TV reception - we were made aware of this in advance and it was not a problem for us as we spent very little of our stay in the room. The television should work in the annex building - if desired we could have switched to it. The breakfast buffet was rich and delicious. Fresh fruit and chopped vegetables, a small selection of fresh rolls and various spreads and toppings and much more. You could choose soy milk as an alternative to milk. The service in the hotel was very friendly. A small drawback - our room was not made after the first night. Wasn't a problem for us as we were only staying for two nights. Maybe we just overlooked something here and it really wasn't included. Maybe these are also corona rules that we didn't know about. But as I said... Not so wild for us. The hotel is super centrally located - the city center, a large shopping center and the subway can easily be reached on foot.

Business travel for Euroshop. Liked my stay and did not feel as formal as a hotel. Breakfast was good, warm breakfast was ok but got boring after the 3rd day. Staff helpful. I will go back to this hotel. Taxis and trains close to hotel. Rooms clean and bedding nice white linen. Good experience
