Ettal Hotels with Breakfast

We were so happy to be back here finally! We come here and stay every year at our favorite Ettal hotel. Covid 19 derailed last years trip, so finally getting back was a piece of heaven! It's like coming home! It was so good to see all the familiar faces, in housekeeping, Jens at the front desk, Melanie and everyone in the dining room, like coming back to family! We have our favorite room overlooking the Kloster, {thank you SO much, Jens, and I love to hear the bells chiming. There are also rooms that overlook the glorious countryside. The staff is amazing, everyone from the front desk check in, the housekeepers, and house keeping, the rooms are spotless. Breakfast is always, fresh and with something for everyone. You will hot go away hungry here! We love their scrambled and fried eggs! and everything else is perfect too much to name it all. The dining staff is so friendly and welcoming, as is everyone at this hotel. The hotel is a mile drive from Oberammergau, and Garmisch and Mittenwald are with in a 30 to 40 minute drive. There is SO much beauty in this area of Bavaria, our favorite place on the planet! We stayed 6 nights this time, and next year we may stay longer. We really did not want to leave, it was so nice to escape the goings on at home, and be in a peaceful place, Bavaria . If you stay here you will not be disappointed .

The hotel is situated on a hillside but in walking distance of the village of Ettal, including the big monestry. The rooms are all comfy but differ quite much in roomsize and view to hillside or valleyside. At hillside you can hear the sheeps grazing the hillside and chiming their neckbells while doing that. Breakfast was fine and can be done outside too, weather permitting. The villages of Garmisch and Mittenwald are nearby (max 30 km) which have more stunning mountainpeaks.
