We visited Eureka to see the beautiful redwoods and other local attractions. Douglas, the concierge, is just the best. Our rooms were spacious, cozy and clean. A full breakfast is included with each room. Breakfast was delicious and way above and beyond expectations. Douglas recommended multiple attractions we were unaware of. We enjoyed Avenue of Redwoods and Lady Bird Johnson Grove. Don’t miss out on Ferndale, Ca with Centerville beach and The Lost Coast. There is also an interesting Victorian cemetery and Victorian village. We lunched at a delicious Mexican place on the Main Street.

I come to Eureka every few months for work. I’ve stayed at other hotels, but ever since I discovered the Carter House Inn, it is my go to. This is my third stay and it’s lovely always. The *free* breakfast is restaurant quality, you sit down and order and they make it fresh. I’ve also been to their restaurant and while the service was a tad slow the food was worth the wait. Absolutely fantastic Their bar is also lovely, Ean is a joy and so friendly. He makes the best drinks! They have THE best, softest sheets! You won’t catch me at any other hotels or inns in eureka!

The staff was friendly and personable. Little perks such as makeup cleansing wipes, bathroom robes, complimentary wine, and a custom hot breakfast made our stay feel more special. The hotel was conveniently located near many local attractions, including a waterfront trail, the Carson Mansion, Opera Alley, downtown shops, and restaurants. However, the parking situation is really tight. Also, I did feel that housekeeping could have paid closer attention to some areas. For example, the cups that are available for use in our room were questionable. I felt that they were not thoroughly cleaned or checked before our arrival. However, I would likely stay here again

Love this property. I like that it has plug in for electric vehicles. The breakfast is always delicious. Cookies (homemade) are a delight. The complimentary wine for happy hour is great. Staff is the best.

Great, quiet location, walking distance to Old Town area. Delicious sit down breakfast included. Nothing but good things to say about this place. Would definitely stay again.

This is absolutely a terrific place to stay. I would definitely recommend the Carter House. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. From check in to the bartender to checkout. This is located in a beautiful old district and is easy walking distance to many great restaurants. The room was very clean and the bed was oh so cozy! The breakfast was amazing and unlike any other during our travels.

We stayed here for a weekend and it was an exceptional hotel. Their staff, rooms, restaurant is top notch. It happened to be Kentucky Derby day when we arrived and they served free drinks and horderves to all the guests in the lobby while watching the race on large screens they had in place so everyone could watch. It was a beautiful place to stay and the room was lovely. They allow pets if you advise them that you will be bringing a pet. It was a charming and very pleasant stay and the staff was amazing. I would highly recommend it. I know it will be our first choice the next time we are traveling through Eureka.

An amazing experience from beginning to end! The level of hospitality, attention to detail, and customer service was simply impeccable. We also had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant (301) and were very impressed with the quality of the food that they offered. Overall we would definitely stay at Carter House Inn again and feel that it was well worth the cost.
