"This is a unique experience. Built in 1922, this historic inn has hosted three U.S. presidents and many actors, sports stars, and politicians. Their pictures are on the walls. The original opening of this inn corresponds with the completion of the highway which allowed access to this redwood studded part of California. There are three old time telephone booths in the huge lobby and many displays of days gone by. Completely renovated, the bed is comfortable, the television large, and breakfast free, even if your booking says that you must pay extra. TIP: If you come in winter, set your room temperature to 75 degrees (70 degrees does not really reach 70 degrees)."

"Continental breakfast misrepresented badly. There was a bowl of apples and a couple packets of oatmeal and one variety of granola bars. The website shows a full breakfast bar. No dirty clothes bag in the rooms. Other than that the room was decent and the staff was friendly enough."

"Stayed for two nights. The breakfast was very good. The room was large, comfortable and clean. There was a large dining room and living room on the first floor, two bedrooms and a shared kitchen on the second floor. We were the only ones on the second floor on the first night. The second night, the guests on the third floor checked in very late at night. I felt the poor sound insulation of the old wooden house. There were homeless people staying in the public parking lot outside the house (not the hotel parking lot) for a long time, which was quite annoying. They didn't look like homeless people, but more like gang members, and they took turns staying there..."
