Breakfast is fabulous fresh and eggs and croissants made perfect on the spot. Only thing is need more fruit no fruit.
No gym ? Too cold to swim.
Cosy room too small.

This hotel lets the HOtel Du Vin chain down. It does not have the usual a**osphere as others and the bar ius ridiculous! The barman seemed too busy and at the dinner table he spilt our wine, pouring it as he also had a tray for others. The food was ok, and the bed was far too soft, along with the pillows, which meant for a bad nights sleep. I will stay in a Premiere Inn next time!

Brilliant massage by Natalie, really relaxing and great spa session. Friendly welcoming team, spa is a hidden gem (but don’t come because we want it all to ourselves). Lovely garden and bistro, would really recommend for anybody looking to unwind.

Stayed one night on a glorious getaway package which is bed breakfast and 3 course evening meal and bottle of champagne Arrived early and they accommodated bag drop off do we build go exploring Exeter. Hotel is very nice and clean. Reception staff lovely . We has the comfy room ,small but very nicely appointed. Meal was lovely although there is a surchargeon main courses over £20 on the deal we were on. The breakfast is top notch ,service great The gardens are very nice , we didn't use the pool . All in all, good value ,great staff ,great location and great food .

We came to Exeter as we were taking my mum to the Exeter Chiefs rugby game as her Chris**as present. We had the most excellent stay at Hotel Du Vin and couldn’t recommend it more. The first thing to say is that it’s well located for Exeter Central station - about a 12 minute brisk walk/15 minute stroll past the Cathedral, and about the same to the lovely Exeter Quayside area. We started our stay with a fantastic meal in the bistro - sat out on the patio in the sunshine, utter bliss! Food was delicious and service very good. We checked in to our room, which was simply lovely - comfy bed, great size, good shower & bath and all the decent amenities. When we got back from the match, we had some drinks and a really nice light supper in the bar - croque monsieurs and avocado on toast, washed down with cocktails! First thing in the morning, I enjoyed a swim in the outdoor pool, which is heated just enough to make it comfortable. You swim through from the inside hydro pool and it’s just a perfect calm space to soak up the sun. Breakfast was lovely - good continental selection and a good menu of items that are cooked to order, from Full English to French toast, Eggs Benedict and more. Overall, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel - we had a fabulous stay.

A short break away in the Hotel Du Vin Exeter… a thoroughly enjoyable couple of days. I couldn’t recommend the hotel highly enough.. absolutely amazing service, great food, even better cocktails… great service from Helen at Breakfast, and Shannon and team for my wife’s spa trea**ent…. Will definitely be back!! Also really accommodating and welcoming for our four legged friend! Brownie 🐾🐶

The hotel is easy to find and walking distance from the city centre. The building and its history are fascinating and the renovation is great. There are original features of the eye infirmary throughout. I stayed on the 2nd floor and used the stairs, there is a lift as well. The layout is easy to navigate, as it follows the hospital plan. All the staff I met were very professional, welcoming and friendly. The ladies on reception are a credit to the hotel. I was in a "cosy room" which was very clean and well thought out; e.g. lots of plug sockets, luggage rack, a place in the bathroom for make-up, monsoon and regular shower heads. There is an iron and hairdryer in the small wardrobe. There are good pillow options and the heat/cooling system worked well. The hotel grounds are lovely and the pool looked inviting, I forgot my swimming gear but will bring next time. There is a spa with competitive pricing, I did not use on this occasion. You can park if pre-booked for £20 a night, most of the cars on site were Audis, Mercedes and a Bentley so the average guest will not baulk at that cost. I did not use the bar or bistro this time. Overall, a great hotel, well maintained and lovely staff.
