Hotel du Vin Exeter

Breakfast is fabulous fresh and eggs and croissants made perfect on the spot. Only thing is need more fruit no fruit. No gym ? Too cold to swim. Cosy room too small.

I stay here regularly & the service is always great. Toby & the team on reception are always welcoming & happy to help. I don’t often eat in the restaurant but tonight I did. Not only was the food fabulous but the service was great too! All the staff were attentive but Rhiannon was lovely! I was eating on my own & she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable & engage with me which was much appreciated. The staff at this hotel are a real asset!

Great use of a historic building. Extremely well repurposed. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.

We booked a deluxe room for 2 nights and it was a little pricier than in the past but we knew what to expect. Parking is getting a bit steep and a lot more than the sister Malmaison we stayed at the previous night. We actually didn’t eat or drink here but probably would have done if they had offered us a deal which is what used to happen with this group. Anyhow check in room everything was spot on. We will return and we love the small pool and to be honest we probably wouldn’t stay there if they closed it - which I hope they don’t - gives you a holiday buzz. Great location and a short walk to town or the quay side.

We have stayed at The Hotel Du Vin many times, we normally book the cosy double which is small but quite adequate for one or two nights, any longer than that and you would definitely need a more spacious room The staff are friendly and helpful and always willing to help. The hotel is conveniently location for shopping in the city and lovely walks down on the river. There is a small amount of parking at the hotel, which needs to be pre booked but there is a large car park literally a minutes walk away. We Will definitely be staying again.

We had a wonderful stay at hotel du vin. Location is brilliant and all the staff in the foyer, bar and restaurant were so lovely. The room was really spacious, bed comfy and bathrooms clean. We used the outside swimming pool and it was lovely and warm! Really surpassed our expectations! Wonderful hotel and super lovely staff.

Our first visit to this hotel was a disappointment, the location of the hotel is perfect for the cathedral, the quay and the shopping area. We booked a deluxe room which felt anything but, it was on the 3rd floor and was very dark, there was only one very small window so we had to put on the lights. The bed was supposed to be King or super king but seemed to be somewhere in between a double and a king. The bathroom was fairly spacious but a high sided bath meant quite a step in and out. The separate toilet was very narrow with a small sink you had to be careful not to hit. Opening the curtain on our last morning the whole curtain and rail came crashing down. Whilst we only sat outside, the pool and spa looked very good, there are a few Sun loungers and deck chairs on the grassed area making it a nice area to relax. Breakfast both mornings was excellent, freshly cooked hot food with cereals, yogurts etc you helped yourself. Dinner wasn’t the best, we had to send the two vegetable sides back as they were cold, the mains weren’t much hotter. The starters we had were however excellent. There is no draught beer and a small bottle of beer £5.50 making it close on £10 a pint, expensive and not value for money. There was only one person serving and if they went outside to collect glasses etc you had to stand around waiting for a while. We booked the hotels parking at £20 a night, when we arrived our space was clearly marked with our name. We were out all the next day and arrived back to find our name had been removed, we were allocated a space but under someone else’s name! Having had a disappointing experience we would however stay again as it is in a great location.

Had coats stolen from car in the car park even though paid for 3 days parking on site. Staff excellent, friendly and attentive at all times.

Decent hotel. Spa treatments and staff were great. Pool is good. Bar a bit haphazard.
