-No elevator upon arrival. It appeared one front desk agent was training another during my check-in. I was informed the elevator did not work but should work later today. I am not one to care or even want concierge service or help with bags - I actually hate it. But when you put me on the 3rd floor and I have rolling baggage - and not a little, perhaps have your trainee guy at least help with my bag when I need to drag them up to the 3rd floor. It would have taken 5 minutes to get me to my room had they helped. Instead it was a very unpleasant experience and took me like 15 minutes and a lot of frustration and expended energy. -The hallways and room numbers are absurdly confusing. Orientate yourself quickly. It seems to be shaped like a U, whereas though it is a square, you cannot get from the two points next to each other by hallway. The secret is to cut through the courtyard I discovered after getting lost for like 15 minutes. -No pool or hot tub- as it seems permanently closed. At least the hotel website did not list a pool or hot tub. -Balcony in my room was locked shut. You can open the door, but the screen door stays locked. What is the point of a balcony that you cannot use? -Clean, appeared fairly new. The lobby looked nice. -Late check out keys not work after having them extended. So instead I had to wait in line to re-key cards while I was in a rush leaving. This is exactly why I ensured the keys were set to include the late check out time. So apparently being pro-active to stop a common problem hotels have, it still got messed up by the hotel.

I'm just trying to figure out what it is where I keep trying to be Safe and get Help from the people who I thought were supposedly my Government and Law Enforcement Agencies, yet haven't been able to get Anything Accomplished after years of my being in Washington D.C. constantly running up to Capital Hill and/or White House, Not to mention how many other parts of this Hypocrisy in Democracy, yet my trying to constantly keep coming up with the Funding to keep having to fork over paying for Hotels instead of my being jumped and robbed again like how Chicago's Finest claimed what was that got me in that coma to begin with, being chased around the Country by the same types of *****s that in which I originally came to D.C. Metropolitan area thinking that I'd Finally be able to get away from, here now seemingly running Government and Everything else! More than less, I'm just trying to figure out what it is that's got like Every Foreigner and/or LGBTQ Community Member(s) Nationwide chasing me around thinking that if they were to Completely Annoy, Harass, pretty much do Anything that's either going to Kill me off, that and/or giggling from them passing out HIV/AIDS, then calling me Homophobic when I'm Not willing to accept such, putting God knows what in People's Food/Drinks and Cigarettes like it's Legal, somehow having 3rd party Booking sites in on the bogus Game(s) of keeping a person trapped outside until they decide being in relations with individuals who've got the exact same genetic sexual manifest as that of myself, with how many from every other Country(s) in on poisoning others (most of which having the same permanently tanned derriere as I also am Born and Breded with pushing to make sure that they're able to keep the Colored Folks either Trapped in Jail and/or out on the Streets, while everybody who's not from this Country is able to gather up every Everything, and having our Jobs, Religious Freedom(s) Ethical Hospital/Medical Services, and how much of Everything else, while nearly every City and State seemingly making sure that they're keeping US out stranded!

Reserved a room here to have a kitchenette. The room and appliances were clean and functional. I was surprised that the room did not have any pans, utensils, or serving ware, probably due to precautions during the pandemic. I did reserve the room on a third party site, so I understood why this detail may have been missed and bought cheap items to get by. I did not inquire if they are available from the front desk. Also, hot water took a long time to reach my room. I did point this out and was asked to give it more time, which worked. Again, I attribute this to spacing out rooms/floors assigned due to precautions during the pandemic. Overall, it was a great stay and the above issues were due to very appreciated precautions.

Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks

We have stayed at the Fairfax Marriott Fair Oaks 25+ times over the last 8 years while visiting our son and his wife who live in Fairfax. Additionally, we have frequently had friends and family stay there while visiting too. Originally, we loved the hotel, but it has increasingly become worn and in disrepair. This past weekend will likely be the last time we stay there, unless measures are taken to correct many of the issues we so disappointedly encountered. A large group of us traveled to Fairfax and all booked rooms at the hotel (10 rooms) . We found the rooms in need of better cleaning and physical and mechanical repairs. It started when I arrived, got to the room which was not very clean, had torn draperies, and an air conditioner which clanged constantly. The maintenance man, who was lovely, came promptly to try to fix the noise issue, but could not. As a result, my room was changed to another floor, with no one helping me. The next room, had a very dark entry from the hall, as the lights there were not working. Upon entry, the room was also in need of a better cleaning, the door handle was falling off, and the faucets needed repair. When family and friends arrived, they too were certainly not thrilled with their rooms for similar reasons. Well before coming, I spoke with the front desk and hospitality agent about the possibility of having a space available to greet family and friends as the arrived and so we could spend a bit of time together. Although they said yes, the next day I received a email from the banquet manager, stating there were no such spaces available. In the past, we’ve used a hospitality room there for this purpose, but I was told there was absolutely no way they could accommodate my request. On The night when guests arrived, the hospitality roo off of the main lobby was in fact vacant all night, but the front desk manager said we needed to ask for it in advance to get tables and chairs. I had that request, in writing, but it did not matter. They did finally make a space arrangement for us when they realized we were simply going to stay in the lobby., because they did not want some of the children ‘running wild,’ in the lobby. Overall, the hotel and staff did not do much to be accommodating or welcoming, with a few notable exceptions (the woman overseeing the restaurant for breakfast was very kind and helpful). We are Marriott Bonvoy members, and ad stated earlier, have been frequent guests at this hotel. Unless significant changes are implemented very shortly, we will choose to stay elsewhere, as there are many fine options in this area.

The property is well situated off I66 with plenty of shopping nearby for those needing to use the kitchenette. At night the hotel is well lit. The room with the kitchenette, bath and double bed was spacious. Furnishings are average with some wear. There are some concerns. The outdoor mats and walkways outside the rooms are in need of sweeping of dirt and dried leaves. Inside, the toilet barley flushed, the floor under furniture was not cleaned or vacuumed and parts were sticky and in need of a mopping. Lastly, the reception desk is often missing someone to help, especially at night. We had to wait often for someone to show up, sometimes up to 10 minutes.
