Caiammari Boutique Hotel & Spa

Fanusa|0.39km from city centre
If you are looking for some peace and quiet near to Syracuse then you can't get much more peaceful than Caiammari Boutique and Spa Hotel. With its immaculate gardens, two huge swimming pools, good sized rooms and absolutely lovely and anazing staff, it really is somewhere to unwind and relax. The breakfast is very good and includes homemade cakes made by the owners fair hands - it's work it just for the cake! The restaurant offers a limited number of anti pasta, first course and mains. All were a very good standard and traditional with a modern twist. As the menu doesn't change, if you are staying longer than say 3 days it is advisable to start to look outside the hotel for dinner options. The restaurant is closed one day per week, so again it will be necessary to leave to hotel (although the owner volunteered to come in an cook pizza for those guests that had no car). This leads me to my next recommendation - transport. The property is close to Syracusa and Ortiga but is a car/taxi journey away. This includes some of the nearby restaurants. A taxi ordered via the hotel is €25 one way, a taxi return from the rank was €35. All taxis come from Syracusa so its roughly the same cost regardless of destination. For the odd night, it's OK, but to do this for several nights becomes a little costly, hence why a car is thoroughly recommended. Regarding the state of roads and fly tipping, which you may have read in other reviews, this sadly is endemic across Sicily in non-tourist areas - even the road to the British War Cemetery is littered with rubbish. This is way beyond the control of the hotel and they should not be held responsible for something out of their control. It certainly does not detract from the property itself. Finally bring some mosquito repellent - the little rascals are across Sicily - inland, Mount Etna, the seaside - they love the taste of tourists.

Addauro Resort

Last year we were here ... They were a little badly organized but all over it we found ourselves well, clean rooms and pleasant living, both to return to us this year but ... nothing like before. Unexisting organization , we arrived at 15.00 and the room wasn't ready, we had to wait an hour. At 16.00 we enter the room and I feel a terrible smell ... I open the box and fall a piece of wood into my feet ... There were hair and hair and myrrels everywhere (the latter also on bed) ... Please tell the reception and give me an insecticide spray 😒 At 23.30 We go to the country to pick up 2 oranges We go back to the room, we put them on the table the time of a shower and myrrels come into the oranges (althen closed) . I go to the reception again find the guard, I get a kit and a pallet to clean the room and (2 ice cream to dine) ... In the bathroom under the bidet there was a finished toilet paper roll, This makes me understand that the room before our arrival was not even broken. I'll clean the room again to fix it tomorrow but with little results.. We asked to talk to the owner but we were told that he couldn't come that day. Swimming pool and quite clean grass, good breakfast. Ps: For the discomfort they didn't make us pay the extra €35 for the cleaning of the dog, even because the room was cleaned I at midnight 😅... A recommended place only for 1 day in the pool without stay.
