We have been lucky enough that this was not our first visit to Villa San Michele. If you are considering this hotel we highly recommend staying here. It is located in Fiesole in the hills above Florence. They have a shuttle that will run you into downtown (current drop off is near the Savoy) and pick you up. It runs every 30 minutes or so. After a few hours in the chaos that is Florence it's a great place to relax and enjoy the view. And the team at the Villa is extremely friendly and helpful and not in a forced way. We will definitely be back!!!

If there were more stars available I’d give them to this gem of a property. Belmond clearly knows to create magic in this romantic setting seemingly hewn out of stone and lush greenery in the hillside cliffs of Fiesole, just above Florence. This villa had been on my must-do list for years but they are open only seasonally April to early October, and I finally made it! Yes, the setting is like out of a fairytale but the staff is the secret weapon, spreading curated care and attention at every turn. Our junior suite was perfectly appointed mixing the old world elegance of this former 14th century monastery with updated touches throughout including a large marble bathroom, closets, and terrace. The bar, restaurants, including a Michelin-starred one, deliver top-class food. The enormous pool and patios beckon guests to lounge endlessly forgetting the outside world. You won’t miss being 15 minutes above the bustling center of Firenze because it’s a fantastical escape. GM Sofia and her first-class team of Luana, Eleonora, Andra, and all the rest felt like family after 3 days there. I cannot wait to return to this Tuscan home away from home.

Lugar maravilhoso, impecável , sem igual. Um verdadeiro sonho , cada cantinho tem uma beleza. Funcionários muito solícitos em especial: Luana, Alberto e Paulo. É indescritível a beleza dos jardins, restaurante maravilhoso , piscina muito charmosa. Café da manhã muito bom. Não tem defeito… Sugiro que se alguém tiver algum problema de locomoção , avise para ficar próximo ao andar térreo. No nosso caso éramos em 4 casais , e dois deles tinham dificuldade de locomoção , não foi fácil subir da entrada até chegar no quarto subir exatos 49 degraus. Nada tira a beleza do lugar , no entanto foi muito dificultoso esse tanto de degraus para essas duas pessoas do grupo.

We had the most amazing stay at this hotel. My husband and I arrived and the concierge Adriana. I think. She set us up with a wine tasting and pizza cooking class that was perfect for us. Small Italian owned and gave you a real feel for the countryside. She also showed us a hiking path from the hotel. Above and beyond service. We stayed in some fancy hotels and this stay was BY FAR our favorite ❤️ thank you.
