We set off from Los Angeles for a self-driving tour of Yosemite. We stayed for two nights. It was very close to the gate of the park. We could drive into the park before many cars were crowded to the gate and lined up to enter the park.

The only good part is how close it’s to the South Gate entrance to Yosemite. Rooms are terribly outdated, walls are paper thin, bathroom is very small and an average sized adult barely fits in the shower, no basic amenities like an ice machine, the continental breakfast consists of a paper bag full of stuff you can buy at a cheap gas station and last, staff is not friendly. You’re better off staying elsewhere and pay a bit more even if it means having to drive longer to get in the park. And by longer it’s only a 15-20 min drive from Oakhurst.

The service was great. Accommodation there was no A/C for both nights we stayed and walks are paper thin. Could hear other guests on both sides of the rooms

The lady at the lodge was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was one of the for the size of the place. It was very convenient to the park.

Loved the location and friendly staff. Room was very clean.
Rooms were very dated, it is apparent that they are in the process of upgrading the facility. The fridge was moldy on the rubber seals.
The location and view offset any outdated rooms. I would stay here again.

The woman at the front desk was very interesting. I cant even explain. The constant questioning about the breakfast. I was trying to explain we are vegetarians and she kept asking do you want sausage patty or Sausage on a stick. I started checking in at 6. At 615 she was still asking me questions. I was like we have to be down the road at 630. She was like i have important things to tell you. I responded can you do it quick and she was like no. So I was like ok and i left. Bless her heart.

White Chief Mountain Lodge was so cute and nice. It gives you a cabin feeling when you stay. It is nestled into a quiet part of the woods and super close to Yosemite entrance. The staff was nice and understanding. They supplied a breakfast option. I would highly recommend this place to get away, relax, and explore Yosemite!
