My reviews are usually very appreciative, however this one won’t for we have been completely disappointed and scammed. We chose this hotel to celebrate our wedding at its esplanade given the beautiful view. We started fully detailed written communication with the hotel management in April 2024 and had multiple meetings with the GM, based on which he made us a written proposal and breakdown of costs, to which we budgeted for. Everything was confirmed and we started doing the necessary payments. 3 days before our wedding, we requested to have a meeting with the GM, with whom we liaised for the whole, to go through the final items and ensure everything is in order. Unfortunately, he informed us that he wouldn’t be available and to meet Ashvin the F&B Manager instead. Upon meeting Ashvin, the first thing he told us is that we should be quick because he doesn’t have much time. We requested for a meeting, it is the duty of the person attending to make his time available and not tell us to be quick. Furthermore, as we started going through the details, Ashvin stops us and say that he was never informed that there would have been a wedding ceremony and that he was only aware of a reception. He kept insisting that we didn’t mention this in our written communications. When we showed him otherwise, he’d then say that it’s only 2 months that he joined and it was somebody else using his email before. A lame excuse for someone who didn’t do his homework before a meeting. After the meeting, we called the GM who told us not to worry, that everything will be taken care of. To our surprise, the GM contacts my wife 2 days prior to our wedding to inform that we will need to incur additional costs because he got confused before. We were shocked for we didn’t budget this additional amount, especially 2 days prior to our wedding. Fortunately, we received help from our family to incur these costs. Again, to our surprise, the GM contacts my wife 1 day prior to our wedding to inform that we again need to incur larger additional costs, because even though his proposal clearly mentioned that cocktails and snacks are included, he was now saying that they wouldn’t be, again because he was confused, that he wasn’t very present at his job and all sorts of unprofessional excuses. To me it seems that the GM, boasting 35 years of experience in the field, is rather a professional conman than a professional in the hotel industry. He waited until only a few days before our wedding to trap us in a fait accompli and force us to pay additional costs. On the wedding day, my esteemed family checks in. They were greeted by an arrogant lady who spoke to them as if they were criminals checking in into prison. Even though we were told by email that all guests would get early check in, only a few rooms were available for early check in. When we arrived in the morning, we were told that our honeymoon suit was being decorated and it was mentioned by email that we would receiv

I travelled to Mauritius for business in both Feb and March 2020, staying at Villa Anakao for 5 nights and 3 nights respectively. This is an excellent option if you are looking for a quiet, laid back retreat away from the flashy resorts and built-up areas such as Port Louis. As mentioned in previous reviews, staff are really friendly and go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. The food is excellent, home-cooked Mauritian dishes each night served outside in a covered eating area by the pool. Breakfast is also good, with eggs cooked to order and fresh fruit. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and have everything you need for a pleasant stay. As a business traveller I was away for most of the day but it was great to come back in the evening, sit on the verandah with a couple of beers and enjoy a traditional Mauritian dinner each night. For those on holiday, the pool area is simple but clean and well-maintained, and there is a beach a couple of minutes’ walk away. Just to note, I would highly recommend hiring a car if staying here - there aren’t really any shops or restaurants within walking distance and although public buses are frequent, you will have a lot more freedom with a car. Driving in Mauritius is easy, hiring a car is inexpensive and there is secure parking on the premises.

The restaurant is average, and it is not suitable to like lively and popular Chinese people, so there may be more white customers in Europe and the United States, but we have to praise the service of the hotel. We caught up with the outing during the unusual period, and we have not heard of the outbreak of the new crown. As a result, the situation was pooping two days later. By the last day of our stay, I wanted to return to China. The situation was very serious. I walked to several pharmacies and didn't buy medical masks. So I tried to find a doctor's office. The staff's English is also relatively general. It should be mainly French. We communicated very poorly for a long time. The male doctors in the infirmary were older and they helped us call and ask which pharmacy had a mask. After confirming that they did not have one, they wrote it. Feng letter to the nurse station of the respiratory department of the local hospital, let us go to wear a mask, thank you very much for the upright male doctor and the local doctor. We went to the hospital for a half-day tour by car and got 12 valuable medical masks. After returning to the child with basic protection, I would like to thank the two local serious but friendly black doctors.

Excellent
GGuest UserThe hotel staff were amazing and very welcoming. The food was exceptional and the hotel management really made an effort to help bring in the new year in style. Our room was clean and the housekeeping staff were always available to help with no matter what. I would definitely recommend this hotel. As a constructive criticism, maybe the hotel could make the carts more available for the eldely as walking from the room to the main hotel is very long - it's a massive hotel. Maybe some cart taxi's at certain times for people who are older and want to get around the hotel. But other than this our time at this hotel was just incredible. Thank you La Pirogue!
BBillieJeanBreakfast is quite rich, basically there are some, the beach is not too fine, but the scenery is good, after all, the West Coast, can not compare with the East Coast, but can watch the sunset, the view of the infinity pool is good, the hotel environment is also not bad. There are 2 kilometers around the town, go there to eat a car fare 400 rupees, per capita 500-600 can eat well, it is also cheaper than the hotel. Next is the Tucao, the hotel facilities are old, it is too old, the air conditioning sounds loud, the most unacceptable is the soundproofing, our room has a sealed door, it is estimated that other room types are transformed, the night is quiet and next door says nothing I heard that the most important thing is not clear where the sound came from, because the next day we lived next to us, and the result was a snoring sound like a big man lying next to you, then suspected to be an air conditioning duct, open The air-conditioned air conditioner was covered. To be honest, the Hilton room was really disappointing. There was no advantage in comparison with other hotels in the back. Of course, the hotel behind it was more expensive, but I personally did not recommend it. Check in!
GGuest UserI booked room for 2 adults and 1 kid 10 years old and right from day 1 hotel staff said kid can not stay in superior room.i was given room saying I will be told if any extra payment is required but no one told anything untill chkout when I was asked to pay MUR 3000 extra for kid stay while I did not ask for extra bed or brkfast for kid bcoz as per booking voucher same was not applicable.when I refused to make extra payment I was threatened of police action as if I am a thief.this is not the way customer should b treated.also seems there was communication gap on part of trip.com to pass on booking requirements.

GGuest UserI can't recommend Pearle Beach Resort enough. The service here is by far the best I have ever experienced in a hotel and I have been lucky enough to visit lots of them. Every member of the team is friendly and welcoming and you are made to feel like part of the family. Sandy in particular made our stay special, always coming over to chat and giving us great advice on where to visit on the island. The restaurant team were all brilliant, Julietta,Julian,Ariella and everyone else (sorry I don't know all the names). Vikash and the other chefs always came out at meal times to check everything was perfect and chat to the guests. The food selection was good, there were different themed nights and always Mauritian food to try each day. There was always plenty for my boyfriend to eat who is vegetarian. We hired a car through the hotel, Luqmaan on reception was great at helping with this. I would definitely recommend this as a way of seeing the rest of the island. We love snorkelling and found that the beach the hotel is on, was for us the best on the island. You can swim very easily in the lagoon straight off the beach and see all sorts of different marine life, without needing to book a boat trip. We stayed in room 309 and it was perfect. This is one of the recently renovated rooms with a sea view. Sitting on the balcony at the end of each day and watching the sunset was my favourite thing to do. On arrival we were treated to a fruit platter and a bottle of fizz delivered to our room and a couple of welcome gifts. One night we were even invited for drinks with the management team in a 'secret' location. The housekeeping team were also brilliant. I loved that they visited the rooms on the evening to check if you needed anything even after they had already been earlier in the day. Damien from the entertainment team was great, I joined one of his aqua gym classes which was a laugh. He was quick to learn which guests were keen to join in activities and which ones preferred to observe and he didn't harass you. Patrick and the team in the bar were very friendly too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of coming to Mauritius. (Sorry I don't have any photos of the room but it was lovely) Thank you for making our holiday so memorable, Maxine and David x
AAlexeyThe hotel has a few flaws, but if you do not pay attention to them, the rest will be fine. The location is super, everything is nearby. Sea across the road, bus stop 50 meters away. Very good for this price. If you want five stars this is not the place.
