The location of the hotel right on the beach, the staff and facilities as well as water activities were all good. Also the Deluxe club room that we booked had a beautiful sea view and was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Gifts on the bed on arrival a Pashmina, tote bag & T-shirt were a lovely touch and it was a nice surprise to have a full fridge with cold drinks. Also a bottle of champagne and fruit were delivered to our room which I thought was a mistake but found out this was also a welcome gift after we had checked in. Just got back from a 9 night all inclusive stay. Food is a buffet which I guess most AI is and there’s a number of choices each meal but the quality of food just wasn’t there. Re-heated food that isn’t hot when ate it and apart from one or 2 meals most of the meat was tough and of poor quality. Where possible we tried to get something that was being fresh cooked like omelettes or poached eggs at breakfast. I had to send the milk back after putting g on my cereals and taking one mouthful to find it was off. We filled up on a lot of bread and plain pasta. After both of us had tummy issues. It’s such a shame the food lets it down as the staff work so hard I am sure in the kitchen but they need to be checking the quality of what they are putting out, some food including desserts were just not edible.

There are really few reviews about this hotel, especially for Chinese tourists. I have also done a lot of homework, but there are no substantial opinions, so I want to write a review that is useful for Chinese tourists. First of all, there are really few Chinese tourists in this hotel. I didn't meet any during my four-day stay. I will evaluate it from several aspects: First, the service is very good. From the first night of check-in, the front desk who greeted us and the service staff and staff we met every day were warm and thoughtful. Second, the environment. The hotel has many rooms and a large location. The room we were assigned is close to the hotel restaurant and the swimming pool and beach. We walked around the hotel. If we were assigned to a slightly farther room, it would actually take several minutes to walk, but they should have a battery car pick-up service (we used a battery car to deliver our luggage on the first day we came). The hotel's greenery and swimming pool are good, not to mention the beach, which is really pleasant. Third, the room is quite satisfactory. If you are used to staying in a domestic five-star hotel, you may not be able to adapt to it. After all, the facilities and decorations in China are really excellent now. The hotel does not provide toothbrushes, and the drinks in the mini bar are charged. The shower is a bit lacking in water and a bit hot and cold. Fourth, for meals, we booked HB, because I booked this hotel half a year in advance, so the price-performance ratio is good. I would like to point out that if you are really used to eating white food, you should find it ok, but I couldn't eat it on the third day, I missed the eight major cuisines of China too much. Finally, this hotel is very close to Casela, Blue Bay, and the starting point of Chasing Dolphins. In short, this hotel is worth recommending.

Flic En Flac
The hotel is located just across the flic en flac beach. Just cross the road and be on this beach, very good location. Hotel exterior is quite impressive. We had booked a deluxe room which was quite spacious, and had an attached garden. We would have loved beach view but couldn't get one. The interior of the room is quite dated and needs improvements. Very few charging points and they were not near the bed. During the bath, the water comes out from the bath tub, making the bathroom wet. Fortunately their director met us on the last day, seeking our feedback. He came with good homework about the issues. They have started renovating the interior room by room. Room service can be improved, especially picking the calls by the reception and the speed of service. They have provided water dispenser on each floor and that was very convenient. We liked the food. Spread for the breakfast as well as for dinner was very good. We are vegetarians and yet we could get good variety. I highly appreciate the hotel person Ram, who ensured that we get at least some vegetarian variety daily. Dessert too was very good. Overall we enjoyed our stay here

We have just had a wonderful 9 night stay at Maradiva Villas.  We are a family of 4, with children aged 13 and 10, and we were incredibly well looked after by the Maradiva team.  The resort is beautiful, in a wonderful setting by the sea with views of the mountains.  What really makes it special though are the people.  Dinesh was incredibly helpful in arranging restaurant reservations, tennis court bookings and anything else we needed.  It was our daughter’s birthday while we were there and Dinesh and Gavin organised an incredible birthday dinner for her on the pier.  Veen and his team on the beach organised a beautiful birthday flower display on the beach for our daughter as well.   Anacy was always very friendly and helpful when we had lunches by the pool.  Breakfasts were always lovely and the team there, including Pritila, Zainab and Dhanish, made us feel very welcome there every morning.  The Reception team were also very helpful, especially Hena.   We were lucky enough to be there for the annual Crystal White Party on the beach with a firework display over the sea, which was amazing!  We were very sad to leave Maradiva but will hopefully return again.  It is a very special place.

I took my mother on a vacation of a lifetime in May, and after several days of travel from the western US, we finally arrived at the Sands. We were picked up from the airport and the driver was very nice and got us to the hotel, and once we walked in, we were blown away. The reception area was beautiful and the views spectacular. We were shown our room and it was spacious, and clean with great views out the balcony. As we put our items away a gentleman came to give us a Covid screening. (we laughed because he was wearing a lab coat...) We relaxed by the pool, or played in the water and the staff was always making sure we had everything we needed. The food was very good, but some things were better than others. It was fun to try new dishes that are not part of the cuisine at home. On our first evening my mother wanted wine, and Rahja was very helpful and found her one. From that evening onward, he came to talk to her each meal and made her feel like the most valued visitor there. They laughed and joked a lot. He found her a few more bottles during our stay as well! He was by far her favorite staff member. Soudesh was of great assistance to us, booking off site adventures for us, and arranging transportation. He also asked the kitchen to make me some of their banana jam to take home, as I loved it so much. We used the spa as well, and my mother got the best massage, and mine was only mediocre. The beach at the Sands is also the best along that shoreline, so it's much easier to walk on than further down as it bites into your feet a bit. What made the Sands so nice is how warm and caring the staff was. They felt like family and they seemed to really care about you and really wishing you to have a great vacation. We stayed on the opposite shore after a trip to Reunion Island, and missed that, and wished we were back at the Sands. If I am able to return to Mauritius, I would definitely pick the Sands for my stay!

The hotel has a few flaws, but if you do not pay attention to them, the rest will be fine. The location is super, everything is nearby. Sea across the road, bus stop 50 meters away. Very good for this price. If you want five stars this is not the place.
