Hotel la Scala

Location is great as it’s in between the train station (5 min walk) and the centre of Florence (10 min walk). Nice room, nothing too fancy but all that was needed was there. Bathroom is newly made. Great staff, helpful and smiling. They booked last minute for us at a restaurant next door which is usually difficult to book.

The location is very ideal, near to the train station. The receptionist is very helpful and friendly. She offers a lot of good advice and suggestions on where to go. The room is spacious, and the toilet is new. The breakfast can be customised as it is cooked and served when you are at the dining area.

This hotel is very comfortable and it was clean and well maintained. Location is good and near the train station Santa Maria Novella by 10 min walk if dragging luggage. 15-25 mins walk to all major locations. Good restaurants and beautiful perfumery on the same street Down side is hotel is on 2nd floor and the stairs access corridor has a very bad sewage smell so have to hold your breadth. There is a very slow lift to move the luggage. The front room we were allocated was facing the road and the traffic and crowd noise is quite loud the whole night thru to morning. Not suitable for light sleepers.. The wifi is terrible and unstable and most of the time have to use own mobile plan. Upside is water is provided and tea and coffee service in the room. We had a breakfast included room and had fried eggs and warm croissants. On the day we had to leave early for a day tour, hotel staff prepared a take away breakfast for us the night before. Overall ok but was expecting better for the price we paid.

Hotel La Scala is exactly what you want and expect from a pensione. We booked our room last minute on the train from Milan. We were greeted by friendly staff. It is very close to the train station and within walking distance of all the main sights in Florence. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was great, and the chef was so accommodating. For this pricepoint, Hotel La Scala is perfect!

Very strange place to stay. A regular "MOTEL".

There are not enough superlatives to express how much we loved this hotel. The staff really made this place special. Each day they treated us like we had been there forever. The breakfast (included) is made to your order each morning; very good. This hotel was very walkable to many attractions and is very close to the central station. My only regret is that we did not spend more time in Florence. This hotel really was the cherry on top of Florence, thanks to the staff.
