The service was extremely poor. The fire alarm rang at 5 o'clock in the morning and lasted until nearly 8 o'clock. The hotel did not explain or apologize. There are a lot of people at breakfast, and there is almost no service. The house is super old. The penthouse suite has a good view from the terrace, but nothing else. I feel that the overall hotels in Italy are very poor. The price is still very expensive.

The rooms are dated and you can hear the people next to you talk, watch TV, and snore all night long. Especially when you are given a non-requested adjoining room. The cleaning staff also left our window open after cleaning I assume for the breeze to come in but the room was very hot because of this.

The hotel is in an excellent location and easily walkable throughout the city center. We also enjoyed the rooftop restaurant for cocktails. Our room was clean, comfortable and very good size, but the bathrooms could use an update as the shower in ours was surprisingly small/narrow. Otherwise, a solid option for a stay in Florence and we'd stay there again! I also wanted to particularly thank Andrea the concierge! He was incredibly helpful in finding us a fantastic place to have cocktails with a view right in front of the Duomo and was able to get us a reservation (quite last minute) at a great restaurant in Florence that was our favorite meal of the trip. Thank you, Andrea!
