Very pleasant and central hotel, the rooms are full of charm, a very beautiful rooftop awaits you at the top. a downside for the shower which really deserves to be redone and the installation of double glazing in the windows for the rooms seems to me to be an important point: a lot of noise at night, the local professionals take advantage of the calm of the city at night to load and unload everything they need right under the hotel's windows.

I stayed here during my trip to Florence while traveling around Europe. It is in a very accessible location, 10 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella Station and 1 minute walk from Duomo. Although there was no air conditioner and only a fan, the room was clean and comfortable. The 6th floor of the hotel is a bar with a beautiful view of the Duomo and the cityscape of Florence.

The sex ratio is super high, so everything else is average. Just two steps downstairs is Notre Dame Cathedral.

Except for the small viewing bar on the top floor, the rest of the whole is really very average to poor, with nothing. It is not recommended to stay if you care about luggage storage and no one is watching. Honest two-star label, dishonest price.

After spending 3 nights in Florence in the Medicee Hotel, I would rate this hotel 1 star. They had already turned off their heating pipes in each room and had to use extra quilts to stay warm, yet our heads remained cold, which didn't help our head colds any. Could hear people peeing, flushing and talking through the paper thin walls. For being non-smoking rooms, the smell of smoke was always found in our hall way as the owner or manager was found smoking at the main desk, and the smell goes up the stair way near by. There was no breakfast offered in the mornings, and the bathroom towels were like throw away hospital thinly made. Shower was very small area to stand in. The lift or elevator only fits 2 people with luggage, or 4 people snug. At the time, construction work was being done on one of the levels for rooms being redone, the noise heard till late and early mornings. The only thing going for this hotel was it's nice central location to everything in Florence.

Great location, beautiful room with a stellar view, and delicious breakfast spread. But where this hotel really shines is their accommodating, friendly, gracious staff. We were greeted warmly by Alazne upon arrival. She was so very delightful, knowledgeable, and helpful--making suggestions about nearby sites and restaurants. When I come back to Florence, I will stay here time and time again. Wonderful experience!

The best hotel right at the center of Florence close to Duomo. Very comfortable rooms, they have a lift, and at the last floor there is a bar with excellent coctails and Duomo view !!! Close to everything !!

Don't waste your money here, please! Location is good but does not make up for the total and complete lack of care for customer comfort. The rooms are so poorly furnished they feel like a skid row boarding room. The elevator sometimes works...with six stories can be an issue. Bathroom is very tight. Dirty walls throughout. I could go on and on but I will just say this: I'm so disappointed to have wasted so much money here for 3 nights(well over $400 Cdn/night.)I would happily walk a little further for WAY better value. Skip this one, keep looking!

I am not a mouthy trip advisor womble that writes reviews on every service station toilet that I visit - in fact this first time I have been motivated to write a trip advisor review in 10+ years of lurking on the website - such was the truly unpleasant misfortune of this hotel stay. After checking in at the front desk we were presented with a treasure map on which X marked the spot - a room not in the hotel we had paid €200 for, but a random room off a courtyard 10 minutes walk away. When we entered the room the nautical theme from the treasure map continued as I stepped into what looked like the squalid living quarters of HMS Victory - the musty stench was a nice touch. Unlike the well appointed photo on ***********, which had a lovely bed spread, view of the Duomo and plenty of Italian charm - our room had a 1970s Scout hut style kitchen with appliances missing, two rather sad looking beds, and a stinky cave in which the toilet resided. Naturally, I immediately donned the Birkenstocks and indignantly marched back to the hotel reception to make a very polite and british complaint. I showed the girl on reception a photo of the room I had booked, and then a photo of the room I had been exiled to - to which she laughed and denied that the photos on *********** were of her hotel (!) a rather bold strategy I thought. After laughing in my face, she beckoned the hotel manager who slung over a set of keys for a new room in my direction. A decent result. On the way back to HMS Victory to collect my partner, the reception desk rang me 3 times telling me to pay for the additional room unless I returned the original keys immediately - the keys for the room I was trying desperately to escape from. The new room was better, still not quite what was advertised. There was no AC, the water ran out in the night, the walls were as thin as the bed-sheet-like towels ensuring that the noise from other rooms kept me awake to feel all of the mosquito bites. Fake photos on website, indifferent staff bordering on rude - please avoid.

Can't really comment on the hotel itself as when we arrived we were put into an apartment 200 metres away. The pleasant receptionist explained this as there was no air con in the hotel but it was in the apartment (32° outside). The apartment itself was big and although on a busy shopping street nice and quiet. Only downside was we ordered breakfast but was told they didn't do breakfast and the apartment we had had cups and cutlery but no kettle or cooker.
