Mercure Salisbury White Hart Hotel

The hotel room is about dated and not quite as what has been expected. However, the service from receptionists and restaurant staff was amazing!

Arrived at hotel at 10:50 to be advised the night porter was not trained to provide residents bar cover; booked this hotel as had a good experience previously with residents bar service. Disappointing we were unable to spend some time with a final drink to celebrate long service awards with our team. On asking about room service were rudely advised ‘did you not hear what we said about the night porter’. Not the service expected of a 4 star hotel n Salisbury. There are other hotels who do provide this service which will be used for our business trips in future.

Stayed here for the second time and will definitely come back. Decided to bring my daughter at the last minute and the staff kindly upgraded us to a large room at no extra cost. A lovely, family friendly hotel with very accommodating staff. We enjoyed our stay.

We held our Golden Wedding lunch at the White Hart last weekend, for our family of 27 adults and children. Very successful, with excellent catering and an ideal function room, with efficient friendly and helpful staff, all for a quite reasonable charge. And car parking foc, in central Salisbury. We will use the White Hart for future events.

The hotels location was great but I’m afraid that is the only plus for us! For a 4 star hotel and the price we paid we expected a much better standard of accommodation. Very out dated, not very clean and in desperate need of new carpets throughout the hotel as very threadbare. Such a shame as it has great potential.

Stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. We received the warmest welcome from the loveliest reception staff. They were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was 225 and it was just superb. Everything was spotlessly clean, bright and cheerfully decorated. Our bed was super-king sized and exceptionally comfortable, in fact we agreed it was the comfiest hotel bed we’ve had. The linen was fresh and white as were the soft towels in the lovely modern and clean bathroom, which also had luxury toiletries. Every thought was given to anything you could possibly need, even a sewing kit was provided! Our room included a Nespresso coffee machine and soft drinks in the mini fridge which were most welcome. Overall the room was spacious and extremely comfortable and we slept really well. Our breakfast the following morning was well prepared and presented, served hot and with plenty of choice from cooked food to fresh crusty bread and croissants, yogurt, cereals and fruit. Exceptional value and served in a spacious and clean dining room. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re in the area. Salisbury is a lovely place and we were made very welcome by the staff at the Mercure. Thank you for a lovely stay. We highly recommend.

The decor is looking very tired; carpets are threadbare in places, some of the furnishings in our room where faulty; coat hook loose, heated towel rail not working. The carparking is particularly annoying; you are charged at check-in but the carpark did not have any free spaces as the workmen building the houses adjacent to the hotel were taking up multiple spaces. Reception staff were not the friendliest, we just seemed to be an annoyance to them when checking in!
