I recently stayed at Comfort Inn & Suites in Fort Smith, AR, with my family and had a very disappointing experience. Upon entering our overly warm double queen room, we were greeted by a musty smell, which we assumed was due to the cleaning materials used by the hotel. The room was poorly lit, only one small lamp, and there were no lights on the ceiling either. We had to use our cell phone lights to move around the room. Once we navigated inside the room and we're unpacking we pulled out the office chair to reveal a hole the size of a basketball in the seat of the chair - it looked to be rescued from the trash, definitely not suitable for a hotel to use. As we finished bringing our bags in, we discovered a dirty washcloth on top of the broken TV table, surrounded by dusty surroundings. Though we were relieved not to find any bed bugs, we noticed that the AC unit was leaking and had flooded the room all the way to the bed, leaving the carpet squishy - that explained the initial foul musty smell in the room. We immediately reported the issues to the front desk, and they relocated us to a different room. This second room had 3 working lamps, thankfully. During our stay, we inquired about the possibility of a late checkout, but the front desk informed us that they were fully booked and we had to vacate the room by 12 noon. Upon checking out, we discovered an additional charge of $20 on top of the hotel stay and maintenance fees. When we called the front desk, they seemed unaware of the charge and sent us a copy of the bill, which did not mention the extra $20 fee. After some back-and-forth, I informed the front desk that a $20 charge was made during the middle of our stay and not on the day of checkin or check-out, according to my credit card statement. The staff said they would leave a note for the manager, who was expected to arrive in the morning and give me a call. However, no one reached out until 1 p.m., so I called the front desk again. This time, a different person claimed they had no knowledge of the charges and couldn't find any record of it in the system. However after that last call, my credit card showed the hotel processed a refund of the extra $20 they randomly charged in the middle of our stay (but only after we called twice and were informed they had not charged us). The lack of transparency regarding the additional charge left us feeling unsettled, especially considering the confusion and inconsistency among the staff when we inquired about it. Overall, our stay was disappointing, and we hope that the hotel addresses these issues to provide better experiences for their guests in the future. Overall, I felt the hotel staff, although nice enough, were unhelpful and seemed unaware of how to manage things and what to say when questioned about the random charges. The condition of the first room was unacceptable. I would not recommend staying at this Comfort Inn & Suites location in Fort Smith based on this experience. Lastly, let

Newish hotel, very clean. Rooms are comfortable with great lighting. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. My room had a king size bed and a walk in shower. Hotel provides Dove shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash, and body lotion. Room had an iron and ironing board, keurig coffee maker, and a safe for your valuables. There was a tiny bit of noise from the adjoining room. Front desk employees are friendly and professional.

The room itself was nice. My complaints are more along the line of structure which we find in a lot of motels. The vanity is high with a very wide lip. For anyone not tall, it's difficult to lean over to the basin to brush your teeth. Only a shower, no tub. Not enough light in the room for reading. As a Marriott member, I would have expected to be acknowledged and welcomed as such. Never happened. As to the HOT BREAKFAST, the choices were very limited, probably one of the worst we had seen in a while.

The room was one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve had in this price range. It was spacious, both the bedroom area and the bathroom. We were traveling to Florida and stayed on our way there. We liked it so much, we made it a point to stay again on our way home.

We checked into the hotel in the evening after a long drive cross country. I showed the night attendant my phone where I captured the military rate her hotel was offering - $98 and the site indicated there was one room left at that rate. I showed her my ID. I told her I didn’t have my ihg rewards number handy and she said she’d look it up. She checked to see if she had 4th floor for us, got us checked in and indicated through our discussions that we were squared away with the military rate. When I went to the reception desk the next morning, I realized that I was charged $132 plus tax and fees instead! With taxes and fees that’s $45 over the rate they should have honored. Needless to say I was surprised! There was also another military couple checking out at the same time I was and they too were overcharged. The receptionist, a lady (A.T), was not so pleasant and pretty much told us that that’s the way it is; they honor the rates they want to honor regardless what their parent website states or what their other employees say or make you believe. I contacted corporate and they created a case number for me and reached out to the hotel twice on my behalf. I still have not received a call or anything from the hotel itself. We love our ihg hotels and have used them every time we travel. We’ve never had this happen to us. We’ve never been told one rate then charged another. We wouldn’t have stayed at this hotel at the rate we were charged. I’m so disappointed in the hotel staff that they didn’t do the right thing. We won’t stay here again and I’d advise other military members to think twice before doing so.

DDerek BassThis place was by far the best hotel I've stayed at in Fort Smith. I would recommend it to anybody for a night out or a family stay, they have hot breakfast which was biscuits and gravy sausage patties make your own waffles and eggs as well as a bunch of other things you could get that was complimentary. Also they have an indoor pool and work out area as well. And the service at the front desk was awesome by far the nicest people I've ever met at a hotel for sure.

MmeggiewestI recently stayed at this Holiday Inn during a cross-country move. After a long day of traveling it was nice to be greeted by a friendly man at the desk. The value for a nice, spacious, clean room was excellent! The bathrooms were a little outdated but one good thing... the shampoo and conditioner! I never use hotel shampoo and conditioner but I made an exception this time -- it smells amazingggg!
GGuest UserThis place is horrible we ended up not even staying. I checked us into the room and before I brought my stuff in I went to check out the room. The desk chair not longer had a cover on it and had peeled off. The coach had stains all over it and the carpet was just disgusting with stains and chunks of stuff everywhere. There was dirt on the closet door and behind the bathroom door I think they forgot to clean. The kitchen was dingy and I would never use those appliances. I spoke to front desk and had them come check out the room and they said they could find me another room. My kids and I decided we did not want that and wanted to check out. I went to the front desk to let them know we wanted our money back and we were checking out. That is when I was told that it is a dog friendly hotel and that is why it is like that and they are on the list of being remodeled. The gentleman tried to be nice after he tried to tell me I did not mention I had dogs at check in. I then told him I certainly did tell the hotel about my dogs when I called that morning and I showed him my phone where I called their hotel. He apologized and then really tried to help me. Additionally by the side door area they were keeping an old inside chair as a place to store their junk. We left and went to the Best Western in Fort Smith much better for the dogs. Do not stay here if you value cleanliness.
RRachelle FerreiraOnly thing is I left my pink cover in the drawers I wish they would have found that. Sucks. Other than that I enjoyed the room very spacious and clean and two tvs with the privacy and huge bed was so good and super comfy. Host was nice and check in was easy so was check out. I'd stay there again and then I'd also recommend this to a friend or family member.
OOkRn2BeWe were in the middle of vacation when the virus pandemic took over. The hotel was clean and comfortable, however, it was obvious that owner was not concerned with up keeping standards during this time. While we understood that the hot breakfast could not be served, it should not mean that one should spare the quality of packaged breakfast goods. There was better options in the vending machine! When asked for simple creamer for coffee, the front desk had to scramble to find two packets. On our return trip this summer we will be using another hotel!
