They give a big spacious room. It is like living in an apartment with the amenities. But the area and the people around makes it feel unsafe although my experiences there have been fine

At first I was unable to book the the correct date and Hawthorne would not answer there phone. Although they allowed me to check in early, the room was not clean at all and there were gnats flying all around. There wasn’t any sheets on the bed either. When looked in the bathroom the toilet had feces in it and it was stopped up with the plunger sitting next to it. I attempted to inform the front desk and I was told to contact trio advisor. I contacted trip advisor and was informed that there were no more available rooms and I could not cancel, No other options were given by The Hawthorne and Trip advisor informed me that they had put in a ticket for my complaint but I needed to wait at least 24 hours. Unfortunately I had to pay for another room at another hotel. Is using An online booking service better or worse? Not so sure anymore this isn’t my first negative experience,

Just wow. The photos on their website for this particular hotel are MISLEADING!!! There is no breakfast. No coolers full of items. No "business center." Pool is closed. When I got there, they did not have any room cards. Also added a $100 deposit to my reservation. ?? So, I sat down on the one blue couch in the space to wait. While waiting, another guest came in who had just checked in and said the room was awful, not what they reserved, and wanted a refund. Once he left, I was given a room card and told where the room was. They also had to change my reservation from two queens to a king, but that wasn't a big deal to me. I had reserved a ground-level room. I drove over to the building and realized the room was on the upper level. I was traveling alone with about 3 days' worth of groceries with me. No way I could haul all that up a flight of stairs. I never went into the room...kind of glad I didn't. Canceled the reservation and found another hotel up the road where I've stayed before. Did get my money back.

Staff was nice, but the room was dirty. Bathroom mirror was very dirty. Refrigerator maid a very loud cracking noise about every hour. Dishwashing machine had standing grey water with floating black mold and smelled rancid!!

DESCRIPTION ON WEBSITE WAS COMPLETELY FALSE. ROOMS WERE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY WE WOULD HAVE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL

I have stayed at many Hathornes and this by far has been my worst experience. Now don’t get me wrong the front guy was sincere, friendly, and tried to accommodate my request. So that was a plus.
Now let’s get to these accommodations. First, I booked doubles since that was on the site. Well that was a lie they don’t even have double rooms. Next the Penthouse was not in condition for anyone to stay. Overall the room was not clean and my family was very uncomfortable. To the point where it left us stranded at 1am looking for somewhere to lay our heads.
Back to the gentleman at the front desk there was no issues with cancelling my rooms as he understood I was not letting my family touch one thing in that room. I’m not bashing just being brutally honest, management needs to get things in condition for guest to stay and take down the false pictures on the site cause they don’t serve breakfast and the rooms are outdated, smelly, and just overall not suitable for the prices.
