This was my second stay at The Sinclair. The first was great. This stay was less than stellar, so I reached out to the manager. I gave her several days to reply before sending a follow up. She did not reply, so I followed up today and got an auto response that I had been blocked. My message to her is below. At this point, I’ll be escalating it to corporate simply for the lack of reply. What a terrible business practice. Ms. Vallejos, I wanted to reach out regarding my stay this past Saturday, prior to responding to any survey or leaving a review anywhere. This was my second stay at your hotel. My first was incredible from check in, to dinner at the Wicked Butcher, breakfast in bed, and a lovely room (which I believe was 307 if memory and the floorplan serve me correctly). The room felt private since the bed and bathroom were tucked away from door view and it was a nice quiet area. In contrast, this weekend, check in was lackluster, with the key not being activated, then lugging everything back down and back up, to find a completely different room layout. Now, I understand that it is an older building and things will vary, but it was so awkward, trying to make sure I did not dash out of the shower and have my husband open the main door to the hallway at the same time. It was simply not even remotely what I expected based on the prior stay. The shower door would not close properly. I showed photos to the gal and checkout and shared a bit about the experience. She said she would have you reach out to me. I am not sure if this has happened yet. I would also note that it was so noisy being by the elevator, which is another stark contrast from my prior stay. While this was a points redemption and not money, I still left feeling like it was not worth the points. I am local and wish I could take the stay back and have just gone home that evening. I feel like my points could have been put to better use in the end. I do want to compliment the young man who works the night shift, however. He had dreads. I did not catch his name, but he was the nicest interaction I had during my brief stay. I would love to know if it is possible to be refunded partial points or something along those lines. Thank you for your time.
