I tried to book the hotel on May 27th and my card was declined. Since it was a non refundable room and my card was declined, I believed the room was not reserved. 4 days later, the hotel reruns the card without letting me know. I called and asked them to cancel and refund. The GM told me it's company policy and they cannot refund. Also, she says they have the card on file and can rerun (4 days later?) since they have authorization and they have a reservation. I am not sure how I have a reservation for a room when the payment was declined and it specifically says it's a prepaid non refundable room. This is really scary that the hotel can run a card 4 days after it was declined and are not willing to refund the money.
