Beautiful room in the Junior Suite overlooking the harbour and out to sea. We were absolutely delighted as our 29 year old daughter had a small annex off the main bedroom, which we didn't expect. We thought she would be in a pull out sofa/bed next to our bed. The hotel is owned by a large group of hotels, so it doesn't have that exact personal touch, but the staff were very good and were so nice and accommodating, so I cannot fault anything. Breakfast and dinner were standard, nothing special, but still good food, nothing to complain about. Breakfast was included but it was continental breakfast and if you wanted a cooked breakfast like eggs it was 10 pounds extra, or a full English was the same price. Hannah was great in reception and very welcoming. There was a guy on at dinner and breakfast the first day and he was excellent and running the place, plenty of ham at the continental breakfast. The 2nd morning was a bit chaotic and service was slow, there was no ham and the lady on duty said that they had run out and it was the Monday of a bank holiday, there was salami and cheese there though. We didn't complain, but it was evident that there was something wrong with staff, going by the body language of some and chatting. Food was scarce and slow to refill basics like butter and white bread etc,,

Also unbrauchbar. Man hat eine schöne Aussicht auf den Hafen, kann aber die Fenster nicht öffnen🤦🏻 Personal nicht sehr freundlich, würde nicht mehr kommen

On the plus side, the room was large, with terrific views - mind you we did go for the premium room so it should have been. Clean and comfortable with a lovely king-sized bed. Bathroom was ok, though the bathtub a bit narrow. Could have done with a few more (standard) clothes hangers - we got mostly the ‘pant hanger’ type. The staff were very good and helpful. Location is good, but getting to it by car is a bit tricky. On the minus side, breakfast was ‘continental’ with a £10 surcharge for a cooked breakfast - really?? Given the room charge they saw fit to ding you £10 for a cooked breakfast - unbelievable. And it wasn’t as if the continental breakfast was above average. Parking is a real issue - we got really lucky and got a spot in their very limited ( one space per 4 rooms) lot. We tried one evening meal - fish and chips, which turned out to be a reheated, overcooked piece of fish and some reasonable chips. We did not repeat the experience.

Some rooms with great harbour views...the hotel is tired and difficult to navigate...suited only for coach tours ..not for a romantic break.. Eat out is essential. Car park is a fair walk ...we were disappointed. Desperately needs modernisation

We only booked for dinner one evening whilst staying locally. There was lots of choice on the menu. We had the tempura prawns, salmon and ham hock to start, steaks for main and creme brûlée for dessert. Overall food was good but I wasn’t that impressed for the nature of the hotel. The steaks were more medium/well done than medium rare and the chips were slightly undercooked. The staff were all attentive and pleasant and food was quick to arrive. It was a Saturday and there was a private event so not sure if that’s why quality was compromised.

There’s lots to like ! Views excellent, staff very, very friendly and helpful. Food in the evening was absolutely delicious. We had continental breakfast which was good. Our room had an amazing view . Bed was very comfortable. The only criticisms we have , the carpet was terribly stained in numerous places and very obvious, we were quite shocked it hadn’t been noticed and we were woken early by a very noisy radiator filling up (we do appreciate the building is old though) Loved the old fashioned lift !

The hotel was ok, the best feature was the lift, and the views, but for me it was lacking something and not worth the high rates. Staff were great, helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were ok, the room facilities were ok, the bed was comfortable but I wasn’t blown away.

Harbour hotel in Fowey used to be a lovely place to stay. Unfortunately now their prices have gone up considerably, it represents poor value for money. I booked a bed & breakfast rate . At breakfast I was informed this only included a very limited continental breakfast. Hot drinks (£4.75 ea.) and meals from the kitchen (£10 ea.) are no longer included. On my next visit, I will stay at another hotel in town….
