Nice and easy, for what you pay it should be better, Many restaurants around, no water in the room, also a very early check out of 10am … If staying on weekends there will be noise from downstairs band in the bar ..

Not too bad, retro style, and despite being on main road, reasonably quiet for sleeping

The location is very good, but the bar on the first floor of the hotel is a bit noisy

An old hotel worth experiencing. There are many delicious food around. Italian Street, also very close to the port Coast Maggi. The historical beauty in the room + delicious tea bags and coffee. There is an open-air restaurant + bar on the top floor that is popular with locals, and you can see the entire city from a distance. Extremely beautiful. There are also shopping facilities nearby. Recommended stay

Historic hotel with a great rooftop bar. Service was excellent as were the Cajun chicken sliders. Nice selection of locally made beers. Super views from up top with indoor and outdoor seating and smoking vs non-smoking outdoor seating. Recommend this spot!

What a find! Location was right in the middle of the Street Art Festival. The staff went above and beyond helpful to a couple of people who had no idea of Fremantle and the Festival that was on over the Easter weekend. Room was large and very light and spacious and incredibly quiet considering the outside entertainment. Would not hesitate to staying here again.

We spent 4 nights here at the end of a long tour of Australia. This is a lovely historic hotel in the centre of Fremantle. We were given a top floor room which was clean, large and bright. There was air-conditioning, a fridge, coffee making facilities a safe and a big comfortable bed. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower. Many reviews mention the noise. We were directly below the rooftop bar on a Saturday night when there was a private function with loud music. However, we knew this was likely to happen as we'd read the other reviews. The hotel provides earplugs which blocked out most of the sound. The music stops at midnight, it doesn't run into the early hours, so there wasn't much of an issue. The rooms are separated from the staircase which improves security and reduces noise from that area. There will always be noise in a city centre, but they do what they can to mitigate it. The hotel is close to all of the restaurants, bars, cafes and shops of Fremantle. It is also within walking distance of the station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, we were very happy with our choice.

This was a return visit and we had the same room which made us feel at home straight away. Lauren welcomed us and was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We just love this historic old hotel and would definitely stay again. No complaints.

This is a nice old style hotel, well renovated and retrofitted with an elevator. It has a great bar on the roof with views all around the area, which is near the mouth of the river. It has a bar downstairs that has a good range of beers, including Kilkenny Ale, one of my favourites. Unfortunately, it also has (really lour) live music on weekends. I was on the second floor and there was no way I could sleep until it stopped at midnight. The floor was vibrating and the bass came through the bed. On the plus side, it's in a great area, with lots of excellent cafes, restaurants, and shopping.

Great location and beautifully renovated. A good range of facilities in the room. We had a balcony room and it was huge! Staff were friendly. Only downside is the noise that carried on to midnight however they did provide earplugs

We stayed at the National Hotel pre and post our solar eclipse crusie. The National Hotel is fantastic with friendly staff, comfortable accomadation, great food on site as well as many restaurants and cafes within a short walk. The free CAT bus route runs past the hotel (with a stop just up the road) - this is great for getting your bearings in Fremantle. The National Hotel is : *a short walk to Fremantle Railway station if you do need to head into Perth CBD * a short taxi ride to the cruise port if you are heading out on a cruise I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.....we will certainly stay here again on our next visit to Perth

We stayed on a Saturday night. For $315 a night, we found the room to be very basic and not like the ones in the photos so were a little disappointed. We were also between the music of the roof top bar and music of the live band on the bottom floor so didn’t get to sleep until they stopped playing… that should probably be mentioned before booking. Finding the packet of supplied ear buds in the bathroom does not suffice when you are paying $315 a night.

Incredibly beautiful room (1 of only 12) above a pub in the heart of Fremantle. It was a 30 meter walk to my office so location was superb. Had a few issues with a delayed flight but Mitch (one of the bar staff) was on hand to do the check-in and even escorted me to the room as it takes a bit of knowledge to navigate the halls. Great service. The room was a huge corner King suite, superbly appointed with a king sized bed, great pillows, A/C, desk, seating area, TV , beautiful lighting and a large bathroom. Amenities were great including the handmade soap and complimentary bottled water. The drip filter coffee was a godsend- though i would have liked an iron and ironing board in the room as i wasn't around during reception hours to get one sent up. There was no noise from the bar at all. The halls are lined with historical photos and artwork for sale by local artists. Would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling on business or wanting a boutique hotel experience with an awesome rooftop terrace (which i will try next visit).

Take care with this one. We liked the look of the menu and decided to visit mid-week. We went on to the booking app and dutifully booked a table. However, when we arrived, the restaurant doesn’t open on a Wednesday. The website did not indicate that it only opens some days.
