Migiwatei Ochi Kochi

This hotel faces Tomonoura, about 30 minutes by car from Fukuyama. Tomonoura is a quiet fishing port, but historically, it is home to historical sites related to Yoshiaki, the last shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate, and the Kaien-tai from the end of the Edo period, and the narrow alleys lined with houses are beautiful. The Oononon Hotel does not have a parking lot, so they will pick you up and drop you off at the parking lot of the nearby Omokaze Hotel, which is part of the same group. The hotel entrance is a wooden structure that was moved from an old house, and even the walkway has a sense of elegance. The rooms have baths facing the sea, but the private bath on the top floor is very large and has an excellent view. Reservations are required, but it is definitely worth using. The food is a Japanese banquet course, but both the quality and quantity are satisfactory. The specialty, sea bream rice, is particularly delicious. You can choose between Japanese and Western for breakfast, and after-meal coffee can be enjoyed on the seaside terrace while looking out at the islands and boats.

I had stayed at the sister hotel, Ofutei, quite some time ago and was delighted by the deliciousness of the food. I thought this would be just as good, and was once again blown away by how good it was. We were talking about how we'll never eat sea bream sashimi anywhere else in the future. We had a relaxing bath in the room and enjoyed a blissful time. And the coffee was delicious, too. The coffee that's placed in the entrance so you can drink it any time is usually not that great, but this hotel seemed to have cut corners and selected good quality coffee.

The view from the rooms is amazing, and the food is of a very high standard, so you can enjoy both dinner and breakfast. In addition, all rooms have an open-air hot spring bath, so you can enjoy a luxurious view from the open-air bath on the wooden deck 24 hours a day.

Very well located facing the sea and a small island with a temple, this ryokan welcomes you in a very hospitable way. The dining room is very good and the dinner absolutely sumptuous. Small private onsen in the rooms, this place is perfect for relaxing and the large village of Tomono Ura also has a lot of charm.

We stayed on the second day of our 3-night, 4-day trip to Setouchi. Park your car in the parking lot near the sister inn, and take a courtesy car from there to the inn. However, the courtesy car stopped in front of a narrow alley.Is there an inn in such a place? As I thought, I walked about 30 meters down the alley, and there was a wonderful inn. The room was nice, but the food was too good. The Setouchi ingredients were carefully selected, and all the dishes were harmonious without quarreling, and the soup stock left a lasting impression. It was quite shocking for Kanto people who were used to the strong taste, and I thought it was amazing rather than delicious. It was a pity that I couldn't drink during the trea**ent and recovery of a serious illness, but once I overcome my illness, I would like to visit again and enjoy the meal together with alcohol.
