One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The food and service were 5 star and perfect for our stay . A small boutique , family owned hotel in an excellent location with friendly professional staff who knew how to make you feel welcome. The food was superb and the surroundings and staff made it even more special. I would definitely go again.

We only went for dinner but was the best for quality, service and value we had while visiting Funchal. The whole experience was excellent. Talking to residents they were more than pleased with their stay. If we return we would seriously consider staying here

Das Castanheiro Boutique Hotel übertrifft sämtliche Erwartungen! Bereits der Buchungsvorgang ließ keine Wünsche offen, mir wurden diverse individuelle Tipps für Unternehmungen gegeben und auf alle meine Wünsche wurde äußerst freundlich eingegangen. Die Lokalität ist fantastisch gelegen, direkt im Zentrum von Funchal, sämtliche Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Dennoch ist es ruhig und verfügt über Parkplätze, wichtig, um mit dem Auto die Insel erkunden zu können. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen, es gibt einen herrlichen Infinity Pool mit Blick auf den Atlantik, einen Whirlpool, verschiedene Bars sowie einen SPA-Bereich mit fantastischen Massagen im Angebot. Die Krönung ist das Restaurant! Das Frühstück ist vielfältig und es gibt die Möglichkeit, frisch zubereitete Eierspeisen zu bestellen. Abends ist es herrlich, bei einem guten Wein draußen zu sitzen und die exquisiten Menüs oder auch einzelne Speisen á la carte zu genießen. Das schönste Hotel wäre nichts ohne die Menschen, die es betreiben... in diesem Fall wirkten sie wie eine Familie, und das zeigte sich in ihrer Gastfreundschaft, die sich durch absolute Aufmerksamkeit und Herzenswärme auszeichnete! Ich habe wochenlang nach dem perfekten Hotel auf Madeira gesucht (nicht zu groß, zentral gelegen, mit Parkplatz, mit Blick auf das Meer, mit exzellentem Restaurant)... und war sehr froh, es dann endlich gefunden zu haben... und bin begeistert, dass meine Erwartungen noch weit übertroffen wurden! Herzlichen Dank an das ganze Team vom Castanheiro Boutique Hotel!

A superb little hotel, ideal location, every facility you might need, excellent restaurant. Roof top space and pool a delight in a City centre hotel. Spotlessly clean, cheerful friendly staff. Will visit again. Not expensive considering the quality of the experience.

Great hotel. We loved this place, the rooms were spotless, the location is spot on and the restaurant serves great food. The staff were excellent, all were smiling and willing to help. Thanks to Jose Manuel and Jose from Venezuela for pouring the drinks! All in all a great stay. Thanks to all of you, we will be back.

What a delightful hotel. The whole experience was perfect. The surroundings, the rooms, the restaurants and bars are so beautiful and d relaxing. The staff are welcoming and friendly and very attentive and efficient. The pool is small but perfect for a city setting and the views from the pool bar and sunbathing area are stunning. This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the city.

Excellent hotel with excellent service right in the old town of Funchal. Funny enough, they mention their rooftop pool on their website, but not their rooftop jacuzzi, and there is no mention at all of their inside pool with massage features, sauna, steam room and spa treatment rooms. Since I love all that stuff, it was a very pleasant surprise! The restaurant serves delicious food as well. There is no question that I will stay at the Castanheiro Boutique Hotel again if I ever visit lovely Madeira again.
