We stayed here when we went to see the Trent Bore (which wasn't that impressive this time, but occasionally it very much is) and the location is very convenient for that and for the centre of Gainsborough (and the Indian - Elach's - we generally use, it's just over the road). We like staying in historic buildings and this hotel scores on that front, the owners have obviously recently taken it over and are slowly renovating it. First impressions on entering the hotel from the rear parking area weren't too good but our large en-suite room was clean and warm plus the bathroom had been recently refurbished. The breakfast was freshly prepared and thus so superior to the luke warm buffet often offered by hotels. The parking was secure, under cover, and included in the cost.
